I'm supposed to be working, but I just can't seem to get my "engine" started on work. My mood's especially dampened when I saw the emails I got from the significant people in my organisation, and that includes my big boss. As usual, she can't wait to jump onto the bandwagon to question me. Well, I figured that she merely wants to show the entire world that she has totally nothing to do with all the screw-ups.
Sigh. I really wish I could just drop everything and go. No more life-threatening emails, no more late hours in the office, no more disgusting "neighbour" at work.

Double Mishaps
It was a usual day at work. I hopped on to a cab at around 10.15pm from my office and was complaining on the phone to Steph about a lousy decision the Emperor has just made. Talking about that lousy decision, I'm still sore about it, but not gonna digress because I wanna be really focused here.
Going back, I was yakking and yakking to Steph until I sensed something wrong... my cab was running fast on the expressway until I heard some strange noises and it started slowing down. I turned to look at my cabby and saw that he had turned white. He stammered and asked, "Miss, can.. can... can.. you see... see see... that.. that.. that.. woman in white in the middle of the road?"
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha. Okies, sorray. I'm joking. Can't help but try to be funny... kekeke.
Anyway, that was not what happened lah. Muahaha.
Alright, my cab was running fast on the expressway until I heard some strange noises. And my cab started slowing down (all these still stand) but what happened next was not a ghostly encounter. Rather, my cab broke down. Well well well, all of you might go "Chey!" right? Cuse me, may I do a poll, how many would see having your cab break down in the middle of the expressway in the middle of the night as a usual encounter (of course unless compared to a ghostly one lah)? Damn. I swear I sweared.
Thankfully, my cabby was nice enough to hail another on-coming cab on the expressway, and this other cabby was also nice enough to pull over. Cabby 1 told me that he could handle it, so I happily (may I reinforce- HAPPILY) hopped on to Cab 2. To further reinforce, I HAPPILY told Steph over the phone that I saved $6! Because I did not pay Cab 1. Woohoo~ There I was, happily in Cab 2, happily home, happily contented with saving $6 and as I HAPPILY start to prepare to pay Cab 2 (I was reaching my place)....
WHERE THE HELL IS MY LAPTOP?
Oh my God. Till today, as I look back and blog about this, I can't believe my stupidity and carelessness man. I left my laptop in Cab 1 (and if you remember, this was the cab which I had happily saved my SIX dollars on)
Shucks. The next logical thing to do was to go back and look for Cab 1, in Cab 2. I thought Cab 1 should be still stuck on the expressway waiting for the tow truck, so, it would just be a back and forth kinda thing. Yep, my worst nightmare came true when I failed to find Cab 1 along the expressway where it had broken down earlier. "Damn, don't tell me tow truck so fast come hor..." I thought.
NOW, this spate of events is really driving me crazy. First my cab broke down, then I luckily hopped on to another cab without my company laptop, and now Cab 1 is gone, together with my laptop! All within 20- 30 minutes! Bloody hell.
Luckily, Cab driver 2 could remember which company Cab 1 was from, and I immediately called and narrated this rather absurd happening to the customer service officer. She probably had heard more absurd stories, I must say, she doesn't sound surprised at all.
The night finally ended when I managed to find Cab 1 (turned out he had forcefully drove his cab to a more deserted area where there was less traffic, or so he claimed) and retrieved my laptop via Cab 3.
And, I paid Cab 1 the $6, which was the meter fare until it broke down.
Sigh.
Fare from Wonderland until Cab 1 broke down: $6,
Fare from TPE till home (including round trip to look for Cab 1 at TPE) on Cab 2: $12.60.
Fare from home to deserted road to pick up laptop from Cab 1: $11.20.
Lesson learnt: PRICELESS.
