This is good, so I thought I'll share...

A touching story - must read til the end

Long Long time ago, in the Tiger Kingdom lived a pair of siblings. Both were blessed with some gifts. Brother had a pair of eyes who could see a distance far far away. Sister had a pair of ears who could listen to anything.

They grew up together and experienced happiness and sadness together. They like to run to the hills to play. Brother would look at far away countries and tell the sister the majestic view that he sees. Sister would listen to the beautiful sounds and describe for the brother.

As time goes by, brother and sister started to fall in love with each other. They knew that it was wrong, but they could not control themselves. They continued to love each other. Alas, their parents found out about it. Father was very mad, mother was very sad. The neighbours would point fingers at them and gossip about them. Brother and sister were adamant about their love for each other.

To prove that they were truly in love with each other, Brother destroyed his eyes and Sister destroyed her ears. They felt that since they could not get the blessings, they did not want the gifts...

Long long after, a musician heard this beautiful love story and was touched by it. He decided to compose a song for the lovers. I came across this song and it touched my heart too. However, I did not buy his CD, so I cannot share with you the lovely song. I remembered the lyrics though, and will share with you how touching this song is... enjoy¦

(Chinese hanyu pinyin)

Liang zhi lao hu, Liang zhi lao hu, Pao de kuai, pao de kaui, Yi zhi mei you yan jing, yi zhi mei you er duo, Zhen qi guai, zhen qi guai....

Hahahaha. Funny sia.

"Was it a joke?" I asked myself... Once again, I felt that You played me out.
At the beginning, You gave me hope and I carried it with caution. Despite my fragile heart, I held on closely and sunk deeper and deeper... and just when I thought everything was within Your control and mine, You sent the rain down on me.

As the entire Zo nation weeped, I begin to wonder,

"Am I less precious in Your eyes?"
"Did You allow this to happen?"

Both questions seemed to carry positive answers without a doubt. Deep inside I know I shouldn't and cannot doubt you, but being realistically made of flesh and blood, I am but a vulnerable mortal. Perhaps I was never made to "yuan", but the way things were allowed to happen, bottling up definitely seemed a shorter road to death.

I guess it was just a wake-up call from the beautiful dream You weaved. Number One illusionist in the world... God, You got me(again).

I'm back to the old template because somehow the previous template (which I really liked) didn't work at all! Page loaded but nothing comes out. Argh, tamade. Decided to stay with this template. No more itchy backside.

Monday, November 28, 2005

I'm amazed at how I spend my money sometimes. It was supposed to be just grocery shopping and grabbing a takeaway dinner on Sunday, but it turned out a "mini" splurging session. $100 gone in a flash!

Here's what's "harvested":
Skirt- $19
Tank top- $19
Cosmetics (Assorted)- $20
Groceries- $15
Necklace- $8
Rabbit toy and food- $20

Sigh... I need a more economical avenue to vent my frustrations at work.

TADA!!!

Do not be alarmed...

Do not waver and wonder...

Do not think you are imagining things...

YES!!!

A brand new template! Wow!

Finally, my grouchy Saturday was rather well spent. It looks so much better than the previous one. Would have prefered if it could be pink too though, but I really like the sun set... Simply loved sunsets. I might have loved sun rises too, if I managed to wake up early in time to catch them, that is.

Anyways, yeah yeah, I know, I know, my tagboard and hit counter's missing (again). Well, give me more time, should be able to get it done this weekend, should I get stuck alone at home again. Choi!

Saturday, November 26, 2005

I tied up my hair, switched on the heater, cleared the way between my living room and bathroom and was all set for a nice, hot and refreshing shower for Ra-ra. As I carried her in her cage to the bathroom...

"BOOM! Bbbbbooooooooooooooommmmmmm...."

Thunder roared.

Argh! Too cold for shower for Ra-ra.

Damn. I finally understood what it meant by "It never rains but pours."

It's a dumb, boring and sucky Saturday

I think this entry's self-explanatory.

Depressed again. Sigh. I hate to know that as I grow older and older, as more and more people around me got caught by Cupid's eyes (and arrows), I just felt lonelier. Damn, where do all these people get so much of life???

Argh. I am so going to turn into a grouchy old spinster again!!!

C'mon, it's a bright and sunny Saturday! Being YOUNG, ENERGETIC, SINGLE AND ENTERTAINING, I do not deserve this at all... NOT AT ALL!!! What's more, being overweight and having a big ass, I should be popular, especially with girls, RIGHT??? Since when did those moody, sensitive and indecisive women turn over a new leaf and decided to let prettier faces take away their attention? Ha. I getting crappy again. Perhaps being dumped at home with NO food accelerated the crappiness process.

I am so grouchy!

I'm dumped at home like a nobody's child, broke and hungry. (Thanks, Mum), with surrounded by friends with loads of life and time but just none reserved for me. But, wat to do? I'm FAT, UGLY and long passed the "highly-sought-after" stage (well, that stage never applied to me as a matter of fact). ARHHHHHHHHHH...... I so hate staying at home on a Saturday!

It didn't help matters that the results of having my fortune told last Saturday revealed a late late late marriage. I am so depressed. By the way, I won't be divulging details of fortune telling at all, IT'S PERSONAL. Those who were fortunate enough to be there during my fortune telling session, I don't mind a token sum of royalties if any one of my fans or extreme ba gua(s) frens buy information from you. Make sure they pay first though.

I've had enough!

Ra-ra... wanna a nice, warm shower?

I once comforted someone that whatever down times we experienced, there has to be a bottom bottom where we could ever fall and after that, things just had to somehow, someway, get better.

I tried hypnotising myself with this just 2 hours ago, and SOMEHOW, my devil overpowered my this positive outlook with, " Haven't you heard of a BOTTOMLESS PIT?"

I just cannot convince myself that things are going to get better. I CANNOT, I CANNOT, CANNOT! (It's strange that when I typed the word "CANNOT" for the 3rd time, I saw "CARROT". Ha. Damn, I can't believe I'm crapping this in the midst of such melancholic times.)

I'm conceding defeat.

Things aren't gonna get better. They just get worse by the day.

I need my favourite strawberry shortcake from Baker's Inn to keep my pulse going. I'll marry the first eligible man who buys me this.

BEYOND THE STORY LIVE 2005

Totally ROCK-Y!!!

Great songs, great ambience, great fans. (A bit hot though, could have been perfect with better ventilation and airconditioning.)

Half the time I couldn't sing along, 90% of the time I didn't understand what they were saying, all because, my Cantonese sucked. Nevertheless, I totally enjoyed myself. It's been a long time since I've been to concerts, let alone "rock-y" ones like this. Great release from shitty reporting life.

One of the most enjoyable moments was the playback of their musical journey since 1983. It brought back many memories. I vividly remembered the scene on TV when the lead singer died from an accident for a show in Japan, where fans went totally hysterical and cried like it was their father who died. *shakes head*

Oh oh oh! Halfway through the concert, I made an interesting discovery!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I thought Paul and Chen Xiao Chun looked like each other! Ha. (Don't ask me who the person on the extreme left is, I have no idea.)

Anyway, my favourite of all- Wing. I have the thing for talented men. Musically inclined men, as a matter of fact. (Well, that dinosaur was a missed arrow from Cupid. Kekeke.)They totally blow me off. Perhaps in them, I saw what I didn't have and could never be. Shucks! Did I just cause a downfall in the music industry and musical schools because all men wanted out? Muahahaha.

Alamak! Cannot Procrastinate Anymore!

Wah piang, imagine I had wanted to blog this entry out like, 3 days ago? Alamak. I have to get it out, before everything's gone again...

Had a fruitful (or rather, hectic) Saturday.

Went for a makeover with Bobbi BrXXXn (wah seh, nowadays, better be careful of what I write, sicali kena sued ah.) at Raffles City in the afternoon. Wow. The last time I had a makeover was like, em, 5 years ago? Turned out to be totally disasterous (I mean, the one 5 years ago). I was everything but glam, pretty and sophisticated. I practically looked like I was reporting for work at Watermelon KTV lounge that night. *Loser*

Shucks,. I digressed.

Back to Bobbi Brown makeover. Appointment was made for 1pm. A crowd had sort of gathered around that time, even though only appointments were accepted.

Was directed to a counter to have my make up done, but after a hell of a lifetime of 10 mins, someone finally noticed the dumbo fumbo me was unattended to. Was told to wait for another 5 mins more coz the artist at the counter next door was rounding up with another customer already. K. Fine. 5 mins. Being the nice gal I am, no problem at all.

5 mins turned to 10 and then 15!!! Boiling sia. How to stay nice having waited for a bloody 30mins for a make-up artist??? Cuse me, I booked an appointment for 1pm okie! WAKE UP THEIR IDEA! What's the point of making us make appointments when they can't keep to it???

Anyway, finally they decided to get me outta the hamster cage (seriously, I felt like one, being stared at sitting in the middle of Raffles City waiting for NOTHING.) to do my hair first. Hair was nothing but nice because throughout the entire session, I was sweating like a pig! I curse whoever designed Raffles City, for whoever that person is, he/she has to be totally brainless! Make the roof all GLASS. Wah piang, I almost got heatstroke. Thanks to this brainless asshole.

Finally, hair done. Move on to make-up.

Showed to counter and was told that my artist would come in 5 mins. 5mins, PUI ah!

I waited like a fool for whatever seemed like eternity.

Anyway, finally got my makeup done and had my photo shoot.

Here's what I walked out of the makeover with:

1. An award-winning picture for "MRS WATERMELON FACE OF THE YEAR",
2. "Imagines-one-to-be-hamster-once-put-on-high-chair" Syndrome,
3. 500 zillion healthly cells killed by ultra string UV rays and
4. $150 poorer.

Tsk.

Top Chart: Stairway to Heaven

I've never liked Korean dramas.

1. Too draggy, worse than Qiong2 Yao2.
2. Guys no handsome, gals no pretty. I prefer Japanese honestly.
3. I'm not into romantic stories at all. So boring! And it never happens in real life anyway.

The point is, given a choice, I would choose Vasantham over Korean dramas. But, recently, (perhaps with being deprived of love for too long), I so fell in love with this K drama on Channel U- Stairway to Heaven.

It depicts the old Lao3 Diao4 Ya2 story of how a rich and nice gal suffered in the hands of fate and her evil step mother and sister. As anyone would have predicted, a rich man's son, tall, dark and handsome, falls head over heels in love with this ill-fated female lead. Then, it's drama, drama and more drama. And then, we have tears, tears and more tears.

I've not reached to the end of the story yet, perhaps not even halfway through. But my prediction is, either the tall, dark and handsome male lead or the innocent-looking, frail and sweet-natured female lead contacts cancer and is dying... really soon. Hahaha.. or one of them will die one lah. Or get into a coma or whatever. Something bad sure happen one. K dramas are forever like dat, wait till the last last min of the last last episode then will have nice nice and complete complete (sometimes not complete even) ending. Sure got go Heaven (meaning die) one lah! I bet my fat ass on it. If not name the show "Stairway to Heaven" for nothing meh?

Well, it's draggy... but given the fact that my lousy work schedule only allows me to catch it once a week, pace is just nice sia. I don't feel I'm missing out on any developement at all. Heh.

Male lead is not tall, not dark and not handsome... arghhh... but because I didn't have any high expectations initially, no disappointment at all. Female lead, em... what female lead? Heh heh.

Predictable plot leading to NO excitement? Nah... betting with my Mummy on who's prediction is more accurate is far more nerve wrecking than watching Korea play in World Cup sia.

My Shelter and Cave...

Here I am again, seeking shelter through vigorous typing and emotional release in streams of lines of "yuan-ing", or rather, blogging.

Argh. This is so bloody sad. Seeking comfort from a blog? Am I crazy or what? Damn. I am beginning to suspect blogging just makes me more and more yuan, less and less happy.

Oh God, if you could grant me just one wish, I wish for a time machine to go back in time to make all wrong decisions right...

I'm taking leave this Friday to think things through. Seriously.

Luck's Smiling on Me (Finally!!!)

Lady luck? Nah. Men luck? (Is there such a term anyway?) I wish!

I strike Toto leh! HALF A MILLION sia! HALF A BLOODY MILLION... Right at this point, a lousy thought came to my mind. If hor, I mean, IF, you ever strike half a million and it's really bloody, as in literally BLOODY, will you still want the money not ah? Hmmm... k, never mind, forget that I ever asked this question.

Yeah yeah! Back to Toto. Woohoo~ Half a million, cool sia.

So happy!

K. What's next? First, I'm tendering my resignation tmr. Den... Oh! Slimming treatments and more slimming treatments! Aiyah, might as well get my face fixed. I'm going for a nose job, cheek implants and LIPO, definitely LIPO! Goodbye to thunder thighs! Yayayayay...

Alright. Time to wake up. Enough nonsense.

By the way, I had intended to write a damn dramatic story about how I won a free buffet dinner at Joaquim on Sat. But all that nonsense above depleted my brain cells for today. Ta Nai Nai De...

Perhaps I should really change my blog name to "Yuanster".

I seem to only feel desperate to blog whenever something depressing happens. Very seldom (or never actually) have I blogged about happy things, really HAPPY events. Hey, come to think of it, I've never felt genuinely happy for a long long time.

I hate to say this, and it's kinda sad that I'm saying this, I don't have a life! Everyday is a race against time, overcoming obstacles and hypnotising myself that the world still remains beautiful despite having nasty and ugly people around. At the end of the day, I feel so bloody exhausted, and just wanna drop into slumberland...

Routine, routine, routine...

Day after day it happens, night after night I struggle with nightmares because of mental stress...

Is this what I really want, after all?

Much as I know something is seriously wrong, I could never stop to take a breather and re-adjust accordingly. Deadlines become tighter, days become shorter, nights become longer... Sad sia.

Okie. It's time to sleep.

Wow, it's been so long!!!

Heya, I'm back into blogging action!

I guess it would have taken a much longer time before I took the courage to get my fingers going again, if not for the national day rally telecast. I woke up from my nap, wanting to catch something on tv through dinner before getting down to working on my report and...

Channel 8==> National Day Rally telecast,

(yawns)

Channel U==> National Day Rally telecast,

(damn)

Channel 5==> National Day Rally telecast...

(losing my patience and appetite)

Suria==> NATIONAL DAY RALLY TELECAST!!!

Vasantham Central==> NATONAL DAY RALLY TELECAST!!!

What the heck???

National Day's like 2 weeks ago rite? Now then telecast Rally? And what's with telecasting it ALL AT THE SAME TIME in ALL CHANNELS?

When Enough is Enough

I was trying to find khakis to hang out with on Saturday because it just felt so wasted couching at home like a potato. Besides, it was one of the rare weekends where I didn't have to clear any work during the weekend. I sms-ed several frens, of which one of them happened to be Bugger. She was facing some work problems and told me that she didn't really wanted to come out, for she was afraid dat she might just break down and lose control (as usual). After an hour or so of listening to her work woes, she decided that perhaps, she doesn't really mind meeting me. After all, we could meet at the central near my hse. Alright. Location fixed.

When asked wat time she could make it, she told me that she had a facial appointment at 4pm, so most probably she would meet me ard 6pm. Dat sounded good and because it was quite some time before 6pm, I figured out that perhaps I could leave my hse earlier and shop ard for a while before our stipulated meeting time at 6pm.

At 3.15pm, I was still with her on the phone. Still at her work woes. Well, typical characteristic of Venusians, we talk and talk about the same problem over and over again. I prompted her that perhaps we should talk later and that she should go get ready for her facial appointment. Well, she "yah-yah-ly" told me that the shop was just downstairs her block and she still had time. We talked till 3.30pm.

At 5.15pm, I was all ready to leave my hse. Wanting to take the chance that she might finish her facial earlier and could meet me earlier, I sms-ed her to tell her to let me know when she was ready and was on the bus.

No reply.

K. Perhaps she was in the middle of a facial.

At 6pm (we were supposed to meet at 6, remember?), I called her on her handphone. No ans. I called for about 5 times and there was no ans.

K. Perhaps she was on the bus and couldn't hear her phone ringing. Never mind, she would be able to see the missed calls when she attempts to call me when she reached.

I waited and waited. It was 6.40pm and there was no reply, no call and no news at all.

Now, I'm getting pissed. 40 mins passed and as usual, no decency to even call to say she's late.

I decided that without her, my world doesn't have to stop revolving. I didn't have to shelve my plans for an IRRESPONSIBLE, UNREASONABLE, UNCARING, INSENSITIVE and RUDE piece of being like her.

Anger in me couldn't be appeased though. And poor Weiling had to be bombarded with my yuan-ing:

"I'm damn pissed off with your fren. Supposed to meet her at 6pm and till now she hasn't called me yet. I've really had enough of her nonsense and there is no way I'm going to take this kinda shit from her anymore. "

"I'm not meeting her anymore and now am on my way to do watever I had to do and to buy watever I had to buy. My world doesn't stop revolving because of her. "

"You dun have to reply me. Know u r bz. Just so angry and upset with her that I need to get it out of my chest."

Basically I was storming my way to central. Looking back, I might have looked like Nie Yun in Wind & Cloud (Feng1 Yun2). Killing all who crossed my path with my stares. Hahaha.

My anger reached this month's high when my handphone rang at 7.20pm and it showed, " Cxxxx's hse calling". As I guessed. She was late and still at home. Wanted to ignore her calls but my inner voice was tempting me to pick it up and settle it, once and for all.

Me: Hello.

Cxxxx: Hey, I'm still at home, dunno my facial will take so long.. eh I

Me (not giving her a chance to produce any more non-sensical excuses): I tink it's okie, u dun have to come meet me anymore. K. Bye.

I hung up the phone. Frankly speaking, I never liked the idea of hanging up on someone because it's totally rude. I've done this like only twice on my life time? The only other time was on her too. She didn't show up for an appointment and didn't reply my pages.

I was obviously infuriated.

It was her legendary "consistent-bugging-calls" after dat. I tink I had like, em, 20 missed calls in 10 mins? Do I care? I DO NOT! Not anymore.

I declared war and I'm not going to concede defeat simply because,

I had enough.

Note: Dun try to judge me like I'm some kind of unreasonable piece of shit because I didn't even bother to hear her out. EXTREME late-ness experiences with her beats my buffet records without a feat.

Red Candy vs Fantastic Four

Oh, here comes the inspiration to write...

I was so deprived of movies that I caught TWO on Saturday! Oh... nice sia...I missed going to cinemas for a movie. My last one was, em.. shucks. It was so bloody long ago dat I can't remember wat was my last moive. Wat lingered on was, I wanted SO MUCH to catch Madagascar but everyone just seemed uninterested or had already watched it. Well, bugger fren showed availability, but I wasn't prepared for another "waste-of-time-nonsense-coz-of-irresponsible-lateness" nonsense.

Back to the movies.

First one was Red Candy, a lousy Japanese horror movie. It was EXACTLY like The Ring, just that this time, instead of a chain video where one would get killed after watching it, it was phone calls. This film had the same series of murder, same sweet gal who kena and had only 3 days to live, same kaypoh reporter who wanted to investigate the case even though it was none of her biz, same spooky gal who was buried alive (just dat this time, it was a coal mine instead of a well.). To reassure me that this sucky film was just the recairnation of The Ring, the sweet young gal under the curse and kaypoh reporter had to venture into the coal mine to dig out the body. Then there was the usual sound effects, where skeletions popped out of nowhere. Just to sum it up, if you watched The Ring, you could give this a miss, even if you watched The Ring and enjoyed it, you can give this a miss too. Bad movie with bad company. Oops, not referring to my fren who good-naturely accompanied me to the show but the wretch who ignitated the fire in me with her "woo, woo, woo, ek, ek, ek..." and finally "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! so scary!!!!!!!" Thanks for scaring the hell outta me. I almost peed in my jeans. Tamade.

Fantastic Four was much much better. Not exactly hilarious, but entertaining enough. Not to mention having Mr. Cute Guy (Human Torch) adding value to the show. Woohoo~ I dunno y, but for angmohs, pretty boys top my list! Supposedly charismatic old men like Bruce Willis, George Clooney & Pierce Brosnan are not my cup of tea, sorrayyyy... It could have been better if other movie patrons were nice and considerate enough not to put their entire feet on the seat in front of them (which was my row). It was "salty-fish" smell all the way sia. Yucks!

Overall, movie desire satisfied.

*Oh, by the way, in case u guys were wondering, dat lousy show was called Red Candy because all victims who died had a red candy in their mouth. Dun ask me y, either the show didn't explain or I didn't get it.

Blogging during Leisure? If only...

And I thot blogging was my hobby. And one would always make time for one's hobbies. Well, I made time for carbo indulgence, sleep and tv, didn't I?

I have SOOOooooooo much to say, SOOOoooo much to vent, yet, all is appeased by the time I get my fat fingers on a working PC with network. Arghhhhhh....

I was all ready to blog it out (so pro sia... like how pple used to say "work/sweat it out") over the weekend. I had the setting all worked out- air-con, cosy cushions, dim lighting etc. As I proceeded to powering on Xavier...

Aaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

My entire screen stared back at me, in BRIGHT yellow! WATEVER HAPPENED??? Eveything else functioned normally but, MY SCREEN WAS YELLOW!!! YELLOW, YELLOW, YELLOW!!! How to blog like dat. Tamade.Spoil my mood.

Giving it up seems like the only option, unless I wanna risk getting blind. C'mon, I'm already fat okie? Never in the world would I allow blindness to depreciate my value further.

I thought I could let it go, but....... BUT...... I CAN'T!!! Bottling up my feelings would make me autistic and cause even severe depression.

So, here I am, stealing time from work, in the midst of a conference call, to relieve the overwhemling desire to blog.

Okie, a quick one before I get back to serious doggy life.

Ahem...

Eh, wat did I wanna blog initially ah?

I'm feeling kinda melancholic these days.

Could do with some love. Em, well, LOTS of love. First it was the dejecting birthday happenings, then it was the demoralising work, deteriorating health and receipts of bad news happening to loved ones. Each time I comfort myself that tomorrow would be better, I watched the setting sun with disappointment. Tried to seek comfort by confiding in frens only to find that they themselves were bogged down with a lot of other problems. Times like this triggered a sense of emptiness somewhere deep inside.

Many a times I stop to think, "Perhaps all these were to make me a better person." But then again, it only meant that I must have been a person of extreme lousy character to have to go thru all these. No, No, NOOOOOO!!!! It can't be! I'm a nice gal. I'm SUPPOSED to be a nice gal.

Each day was complemented with loud sighs, countless moments of exasperation, occassional deep frowns and fake smiles. I suspect a case of depression. Anxiety(checked), insomnia(checked), loss of concentration(checked) and hallucinations(checked)... Shucks.

Either I quit my job or I need a shrink.

Tuesday, July 05, 2005

I specially took leave today to make up for the loss yesterday. I had a premonition that yesterday would turn out to be sucky. Ha, and I was right.

Today was training for "tai tai" day. Slept till 10.40pm, went for my facial appt at noon, after dat was leisure shopping followed by high tea and then there was more shopping, then dinner and then it was rest and relax at cosy home. Only one word- SHIOK!

I really needed this break.

Only one thing to spoil it all, the day ended too fast! Argh! The mere thought of going back to the office in 8 hours time makes me suicidal. Aiyah, aiyah, AIYAHHHHHHH.....

Where is my golden turtle?

I dunno how to start this entry. Wanted to blog about well-spent today was until I was reminded of how badly spent yesterday was.

It came and went. Just like dat. Yeah, I was kinda disappointed. The only thing I could remember about yesterday was just emptiness. SMSes from frens did warmed my heart, especially after I got a dressing down from my boss early in the morning. But I do wish I had a little more of dat to last me thru the cold and lonely night. If I could just have some surprises to tide me over... I can't believe I was still looking forward to a surprise celebration when I left the office at 10.30pm. Like how it always happened in TV drams, frens, family or admirer popping up with a birthday cake lighted with candles etc. Ha. Silly me.

On this special day, there were no special moments.

I'm such a loser.

Dun worry, I'm fine, as I always will be.

Telephone Scandal

I just want a telephone with a proper headset like the rest.

I just wanna be able to tune in and participate in conference calls comfortably.

I just wanna be nice and considerate by not blasting my speaker on everyone.

Can't you understand? I just wan a simple 2nd hand (or hand-me-down from those who had left) telephone set which supports a headset. As simple as dat. Is that not English I'm speaking? Are those not your ears I'm seeing? Am I less of a human compared to the rest of the population in Wonderland dat I do not deserve wat they have?

Wat other nonsense could I accept?

Well, I should have guessed that this shd happen when you rejected my request for CD-Rs with a moronic question like this, "I don't understand why you people need to back-up files."

I should have realised that you need immediate help from the Wizard of Oz just like the scarecrow then.

Wat amazes me is how a multi-national corporation with numerous important information disseminating every single min can allow employees to get away without backing up files. And, how it, being a leader in technology, can allow its employees to work with outdated phones that doesn't support headsets just to scrimp and save an amount equivalent to the price of em, perhaps, 200 toilet rolls? This 200 toilet rolls would probably barely last us 2 days.

I was scrolling down for comments on my tagboard when...

I couldn't find it!

Then as I scrolled down for my counter,

I couldn't find it too!

Damn.

I started to recall...

I was playing ard with several templates when...

I clicked on the "save the settings" icon.

I think I remembered seeing a "Please note that all your previous settings will be gone" prompt.

I think I went on and clicked "Ok".

I think I lost my tagboard and counter because of this.

I think I would lose all precious comments.

I think I wanna yuan and cry!

Told u I am a tech-goondo.

It's one of those bloody humid Sunday afternoons. It's making me pissed about everything. Having bathed twice today already did not help matters. In fact, I'm pissed how all dat water, shampoo, conditioner, shower foam, facial wash and TIME have gone to waste.

Pek chek, pek chek and more pek chek.

Well, my brother's making it worse by blasting some bloody Cantonese song from the room. Men are such insensitive fools. I feel like silencing him.

Wanted to do some soul searching and WORK on this beautiful Sunday. Apparently, the lousy weather and my insensitive brother foiled my plans.

Soul searching. Not possible with the loud rapper music in the background.

Work. Not possible coz my palms and fingers are sweating from the intense heat.

I tink I'm going to waste more water and shower foam.

Introducing...

The Roti Prata House

Had one of the bestest lunch yesterday since I joined Wonderland. Pratas! How could I miss out on pratas when my workplace's so near the all-famous Jalan Kayu prata shops?

Well well well, after 4 mths of dwelling in canteens and more canteens, me and my colleagues decided to venture further. With the help of my boss and one other colleague, we went to this place near Thomson which sells really great pratas.

It was a usual ABNN prata shop setting.

I decided to try out the highly recommended Mushroom & Cheese prata. Wow! A rare good move on my side. It was de...de...de...licious!

The prata came pipping hot, with the melted cheese still steamy and in semi-melted stage. Topped with my favourite button mushrooms somemore. And and and, all these matched with thick chicken curry gravy... Woo~

We ordered mee and beehoon goreng. Well, beehoon was okie. Mee was a loser though.

However, I strongly recommend u guys to go try it!

My only regrets:
(1) Should have taken pics to share. But I simply cannot justify being a proud owner of a competitor's handphone in front of my boss.

(2) I forgot to take their name card or take down the address. Hahahaha. So much for recommending it huh? I'll try to get it from my colleagues during lunch today. Patience hah...
I'm totally frustrated.

Spent a precious ONE hour of my time attending one of the compulsory modules online yesterday only to realise that the system did not record this one hour of mine. The thought of calling IT helpdesk flashed across for a moment but, because I'm such a techno-goondo, I thought it might have been me who forgot to click on some ass-sy looking button to verify completion of the course.

Well, to play safe and avoid humiliation from the IT helpdesk personnel again, I decided to re-take the module one more time and this time, I make sure I looked out for the ass-sy looking button to click.

Then, as I proceeded to restart the module...

I got this message scrolling across the screen for sometime like eternity.

"Loading... Please wait..."

Closed the window and repeated the module "n" times. Even tried to start a different module. The other module worked, just not this one.

I AM SO PISSED.

TO HELL WITH ONLINE MODULES!

Deja Vu

I just had Deja Vu...again.

It's strange to feel dat I've been to a place I've never ever been to before. It's strange to be in the exact same scene and doing the exact same thing in a dream I had before. Is this a gift or curse? Is this a special privilege or does everyone enounter this? Is this mere coincidence or a sign?

My dream 1:
It was Chemistry class on a hot afternoon. I got bored and looked out to the corridor. Some guy made a huge heart from cardboard (nicely decorated) that says, "For My Sweetest Gal" and walked past at this very moment. Bliss...

Reality (some years later);
It was Chemistry class on a hot afternoon. I got bored and looked out of the corridor.

The End.

My dream 2:
I was editing a report in excel (some cells were highlighted in light blue and some light green). Phone rang and it was sweet boyfriend. Chatted happily. Bliss...

Reality (just mins ago):
I was editing a report in excel (some cells were highlighted in light blue and some light green).

The End.

Wat the f***?

Crappy and bo liao things like Chemistry class and reports happen. And then, there was NOTHING!!!

I am so pissed.

I'll marry anyone who buys me a fried chicken wing within the next hour.

Damn. Did I cause an immediate nation-wide dumping of fried chicken wings? Tamade.

I'm a Foolish Piece of Shit

I just went to "check" whether he's single. There was a moment of struggle as the page was loading.

Do I really wanna know his status? What if it shows dat he's attached? Or worse, wat if he's married? At this age and time, anything could happen. But then again, so what if I saw "single"? How true could one be virtually? I'm guilty of online treason myself...

Nevertheless, I couldn't resist. The page loaded and I opened my eyes and it says...

SINGLE!!!

Hooray! He's still single! Single single single. Yay yay yay!

Well, at least he's still single virtually.

I'm totally ashamed of my behavior. Isn't this wat a 15 yr old would do? Consistently checking his online status and immersing in self-imagination and fantasy on whatever he made himself out to be in the virtual world.

I dunno y I'm suddenly reminded of him. Perhaps it's because I'm feeling real shitty today and decided dat I could do with some love. Yeah. Unrequited love.

Weekend Galore

Had quite a fufilling weekend.

Met up with ex-shitty hole colleagues for dinner on Friday nite. As usual, I could only meet at 8 plus, as usual, Soo was the earliest. Minutes after I reached, nO Tan and Lao Huu came too. Dinner was at Bali house near Meridien. I had only one thing to comment. Dat place is so bloody hot! Steaming hot sia. Nope, not because of "Tiger" gal dressed in tight-fitting short skirts. Practically hot. Kaoz. I was sweating like a pig. Luckily it was too secluded for any fans to be ard. Loads of good hiding places for papparazzis to hide and take pics though. Heh.

Proceeded for drinks at Starbucks after dinner. Soo had kindly printed the "One for One" frappacino vouchers for us. So nice of him! Great deal, go grab! I tink I still have the email with me. Get from me if u wan lah.

Chatted the entire nite away, I'm always amazed how we gals have so much to talk about. (I'm leaving Soo outta this coz most of the time he was just sitting there with no comments, as usual.) From ex-shitty hole related topics (amazing how we can still bitch about dat when all of us are long gone) to quarter life crisis to MICs... Oh oh oh! I forgot about this! nO! Congrats! Muacks Muacks. So happy for u! Finally found spring.

Got our asses out and was heading for home when Weiling called. Another round of gal talk and ended my day at 4am.

Saturday was another round of frens meeting for bday celebration dinner and catching up with ex-shitty hole colleagues (different gp this time). It was a KTV session with some catching up with an ex-shitty hole attachment student. He's serving our nation as our friendly policeman now. Oh, oh, oh! And I took the opportunity to ask if him if he knew the Deputy Inspector who always appeared in Crimewatch. He claimed dat he saw him only a few times and he looks quite old. But I'm totally mesmerised by him(the inspector lah, not the attachment student)! He's my type! Frens, anyone happen to know him? Huh? Huh? Intro me, intro me!

Ended my day at freaking 4am again. Tiring indeed. But totally enjoyable. I love keeping late nights (provided I dun have to work the next day) chilling with frens. Doesn't matter that we do nothing. This is life man. I love my frens! Woohoo~

Angel's News: As Promised

I've officially signed the letter of appointment as a PERMANENT staff of Wonderland on the 30th May 2005, 5.37pm.

With effect from 1 June 2005, I am entitled to all monetary benefits of a permanent employee and of course, the intangible asset like respect from mercenary dogs. Now I can walk in with air, no longer needing to hide my luminious yellow contractor pass like a condemned.

I'm looking forward to a round of pretentious "congrats". A good chance for disclosure of treacherous subjects around me.

Well, this would indeed bring about a lot of additional stress,
(1) other contractors in the department might attempt the "one-cry, two-create a scene, 3-hang themselves" (Yi1 Ku1 Er4 Nao4 San1 Shang4 Diao4) method to vent the unjustice. Their contracts were not even considered for extension. Impact to me would be ostracization and unprofessional tactics like making work life difficult for me.

(2) My bosses have in plan a "capacity-squeezing" strategy for me. Their challenge to me: Timely and accurate submission.

It's funny how I dun seem to want it as much now. The perks that comes with it comes with too heavy a price to pay.

Note: I could predict this FAQ coming- There is no increment.

Once upon a time...

This is a story about a young executive working in one of the MNCs in Singapore.

It was the start of a new week. Despite the lack of rest during the weekend, *Mary woke up bright and cheery, all ready for the challenges that laid ahead in work.

Everything was like usual. She woke up on usual, she rushed to catch her bus on usual, she got her bus on usual and she got to the office safely as usual. Just as she stepped into her office building, she suddenly realises she had forgotten to bring her laptop to work! Well, in the MNC she works in, there were no personal computers. Everyone uses a laptop, in other words, her laptop is her life. Making a trip back home seemed like the logical and only solution. After all, she had an important report due before noon today.

She took the risk of possible mockery and left a message for her boss about this, in case she wondered what happened to Mary. The way back was smooth, except that the first cab that Mary had boarded refused to take her because the cab driver "accidentally" took a booking, just 3 seconds after Mary settled in.

Luckily, Mary managed to get into another cab just after she alighted from the first one. This cab driver was really nice, because he agreed to wait downstairs while Mary went home for her laptop. Fortunately, Mary's mother was home and agreed to bring the laptop down for her, this means that the cab driver will not have to wait too long. It's gonna be just take and go. Nice cab driver and nice mother. Of course, Mary got a earful from her mother, but, she felt dat she totally deserved it.

The entire to and fro took approximately 30 mins. And soon, Mary was all settled down in her office, working hard on her report.

All went as usual, the hassle and tussle of preparing the report. There was the usual careless mistakes, but everything still went alright.

It seemed like everything had gone back to normal when, at 5.30pm, something cropped up in her previous report. Settling it took some time, and when Mary sat down to get started on another report, her watch showed 6.30pm already.

She quickly proceeded to start on this other report, and had targetted to get it done as soon as possible. Today was usually tiring and she had planned an early night's rest. Things did not turn out as planned. There was a problem with the programming fo the report and she had to call the IT guy, who had knocked off already to fix it. She needed to send this report out by today. Mary hesitated about calling the IT guy, previous experiences with him was disasterous and this resulted in a lot of hostility between them. A heated argument followed, between Mary's boss and the IT guy. The IT guy refused help. There was no way he would agree to help after office hours. Almost an hour had passed and finally, the two parties came to an agreement. Mary's boss would grant the IT overtime hours, thus he would not be working for nothing. All these doesn't matter to Mary actually. She just wanted to get her report done.

Trouble shooting took another 2 hours. Finally! The program worked! Mary was elated. Everything just seemed to be over.

She took a toilet break and wanted to refresh herself at the same time so she could get into doing her report. This moment, catastrophe struck again.

She had used too much force on the zipper on her pants that it gave way! Goodness... Lightning flashed and thunder roared. What could be worse? She had no safety pins or any "rescue" gimmicks for this! Luckily, she found a pin in her drawer and had wore a shirt long enough to cover up watever not to be seen.

At this instant, she wanted to just go home. It was devastating to know how God would allow such a thing to happen to her. She felt totally pathetic and suicidal.

She was even more determined to get her report done in the shortest possible time. Obviously, it was a "black" day for her and she wanted to end it quick.

More problems cropped up with her report and by the time she was done, it was already 10.30pm. Phew. Was she glad this day was over.

Tomorrow will be better. She's keeping her fingers crossed.

*Name has been changed to protect the identity of the victim.

Brainless Blabbering Episode 003

Scene: Lunch at Chinese Dim Sum Restaurant
Cast: Me, PREGNANT Team Leader, MIC, Much-Hated DC & Bimbo-lic new gal.

Background: It was a farewell lunch for me as well as a welcome one for the new gal. We were seated at a round table when DC shot a question at us gals.

DC: So, do u gals wanna live with your in-laws in future?

Me, new gal & MIC: well, if we have a choice, we would of course prefer not to lah.

TL: But DC, your mum passed away already rite? Normally if it's only one parent den I tink gals dun mind lah. If not your Dad will be left alone mah.

Me & new gal: Yah loh yah loh. If one parent den it's okie lah. Cannot leave dat parent alone mah.

MIC (not getting it as usual): Hah? How come you only ONE parent? (Can say in astonishing tone somemore, wah lau)

All remained silent for DC to reply. (Pls lah, who dare to reply in such a situation?)

MIC (probing further): Your mum DIED? YOUR MUM DIED? (Need to act so surprised not? People's mother cannot die issit?)

DC nodded with a grieved look. FINALLY she got the hint.

The rest of us normal beings tried to change topic to get out of this embarrassing situation. Somehow, we got to the topic of pet dogs. All of us were sharing stories of how cute and faithful they are until...

MIC: Oh, I heard of this story where a family had a dog and then the female owner got pregnant. 9 months later, she gave birth to a cute little baby. The dog got jealous and one fine day, when the female owner went to check on her baby, she realised dat her dog had torn her baby apart and eaten part of him. (shucks, just writing this makes me nauseous.)

All of us squirmed. I turned and saw my TL turn green. Apparently, this is an inappropriate story to relate to a PREGNANT lady. What the hell is blocking MIC's brain dat she can't see dat?

One last ultimate one to end our supposedly "happy" lunch.

We found dat the dim sum was rather filling, so we decided to order a plate of Kai Lan for a change.

MIC: Wat's Kai Lan?

We tried to describle to her to no avail. In the end, we told her dat she will know exactly wat it is when it gets served.

Kai Lan came and...

MIC: Oh!!! This one! I know!

As all of us picked up our chopsticks to savour it,

MIC: This vegetable is the one with a lot of worms right? There was this time where me and my frens ordered this, and found a worm this big (gesturing something 5cm in length) inside.

This is enough. There's no way I'm gonna put up with such nonsense anymore. I took 5 plates of dim sum from the cart nearby (all pipping hot) and started stuffing all of them into her mouth all at one go. After which, I stuffed her face into the plate of Kai Lan, saying this at the same time, " Where got worms??? WHERE GOT WORMS U TELL ME??? FIND IT AND SHOW ME!!! HUH? HUH?"

With dat, I daintly picked up my handbag and as I gestured to the rest to go. As I walked out, I helped myself to giving her a few more tough kicks in my heels.

Drunkards = Society Hazards

Drunkards should be banned from public transport and quarantined till they are sober, for the benefit of our entire female population in the country.

I had a most terrifying (it was more of frustrating) experience with drunkards yesterday. Was waiting for a bus with Piggy near her place when a dirty old man, who smelt like he was marinated in beer for 3 entire months came to stand beside us, acting suspiciously. He was a Chinese man, in his 50s, standing at approximately 1.7m, dark, with grey hair and blood shot eyes, clad in a light coloured printed shirt with beige colour bermudas and slippers.

This bastard started staring at us. When I say stare, I mean STARE. He was standing at less than a metre away, and he doesn't look a bit like he was waiting for a bus because the direction he was looking at (us) was totally opposite from where the bus would come from. I stared back, fiercely, ready to retaliate with some Hokkien vulgarties.

I turned to look at Piggy and we both looked ard, there were aboout 20 pple at the bus stop, including us. 17 ABNNs, 1 drunk dirty old man and we 2 gals. The situation was to our disadvantage. We decided to take 2 steps away from dat dirty old bastard and observe first.

This bastard followed and took 3 steps nearer to us! Keeping his stares. For a while I feel like we either looked like fairies or aliens, because he never stop staring at us for a second. Dat must have made his blood shot eyes worse. I took out my low-batt handphone and was prepared to call the police when necessary. I even thought of tying him up to the dustbin nearby in case he escapes.

Being the nice, educated gals with class, we decided to give him a chance. We moved to the other side of the bus stop, cramping with the ABNNs. My bus came and damn! He got up the same bus as me! Shit shit shit! It was late and my legs were extremely tired, I couldn't wait for the next bus. Took Piggy's advice and sat at the upper deck because he took the lower deck.

For a while I thought I was safe.

Just 2 bus stops away, danger resurfaced. This time, another drunkard boarded the bus and came up to the upper deck, and guess wat, of all the available spaces on the bus, he chose to sit behind me! I might not have mentioned this to some of u before, but I once had an experience with a molester on a bus in my university days. It was a long bus journey to school and I would often sleep on the bus. There was this time when the bus was empty, as usual, and an old man in his late 40s or early 50s sat behind me. He was pretending to read the newspaper and I never thought anything about it until I felt something touching my back. I opened my eyes and to my horror, I saw this hand from behind, creeping close to the side of my breast!!! I dunno if u pple understand this, if u realise, many pple would lean on the window or rest their arms on the window pane. And this position makes your breasts reachable by the person behind! Provided the person behind is sick like this one lah. I was outraged. I turned and stared at this molester hard in his face and before I could scream at him, he sheepishly looked away and alighted. Damn. I totally regretted not reporting him.

Alright, because of this terrifying experience, I developed a sense of sensitivity whenever I travel alone on a bus. If the person sitting behind me was male, I would make sure I keep my eyes wide open and constantly check if he's trying anything funny. Paranoid u would say, but I never wanna risk my modesty again.

Back to this other drunkard yesterday. I grew suspicious of him because it was like he specially chose to sit behind me. Well well well, it turned out he was another one of those dirty old men who decided to try this old trick at me. Hahaha. Sorray...I ain't no young and innocent gal no more. I challenged him by shifting my entire fat ass to the centre of the seat. Turning ard to check on him every 5 mins. Other people on the bus might see me as a lunatic, but this drunk asshole behind me knew he had met his match. Finally, he gave up and alighted at the bus stop as soon as my bus came out of the expressway. In fact, he got so kan cheong because it was as if he was exposed dat he pressed the bell long before we reached dat bus stop! Heh heh heh heh...

I was safe but it totally ruined my weekend. Feeling still pissed now, I wish all lecherous drunkards and molesters get choked by beer, their lecherous arms maimed, lecherous eyes blinded and become impotent.

Note:
Guy frens: Our country is not as safe as it seems. And your gal-frens (including non-intimate female frens) are not as ugly and unappealling as you thought too. Anyone could become a victim of rape or fall into hands of sick molesters. Don't trade an extra 30 mins of sleep or rest time with the possibility of violation of someone you know. It's not worth it. Always offer to send a gal home when it's late.

Galfrens: Please keep a lookout for molesters on public transport. Learn to protect yourself, if u can't, den get home before 10pm or wear a chasity belt.

One of my Favourite Things...

... is something new.

It cheers up my day, make me sing, whistle (not the professional one, mine sounds one to get small kids to pee), smile and say, "I'm happy!" over and over again.

It's even better if it comes as a surprise, I like surprises (appropriate ones please). Before I digressed to incidents of lousy surprises which turned into nerve-wrecking, heart breaking and frenships breaking disasters, I had better continue with wat was intended.

I got a new laptop today! My old one, running on a lousy backdated Windows 2000 is expiring in June, so I got an upgrade to a new laptop today. Woohoo~ My first blog entry in the office using my NEW laptop. I decided to name it "Elvis". Dun ask me why dat name. It just came up in the midst of my morning shower.

Okie, tink I need to clarify something. My laptop's not really brand new. Rather the newbie here is it's OS. After 4 mths of nail chewing incidents occurring from my old laptop, having this one is like getting eating steamboat in winter. Shiok!

Will blog about lousy surprises in my next entry. Gotta get back to work now.

It all started out as a beautiful day. I woke up on time. No grouchiness at all.

Took my time to get ready for work, breakfast was already bought last nite and strolled under the rays of the morning sun to my usual bus stop.

Well, there was the occasional sweat despite my slow and steady walk because of the lack of morning breeze (I did not swear at this), but I was in a happy mood.

Entire bus journey was smooth and nice, except for a smelly ABNN who sat in front of me, but he had this "puppy-eyed" look and I was in a happy mood. Forgiven then.

Came in to the office proudly coz this was one of the rare occasions where I took a bus and was early. As usual, I got my laptop started.

Then, my outlook hanged. Alright, patience is a virtue, and today's a beautiful day, so nothing can spoil it. I restarted my laptop. My outlook hanged again.

Tamade.

My nice and beautiful day ruined by a lousy, outdated laptop whose outlook just refused to load. I can't and will not tolerate nonsense from technology. Restarted my laptop "n" times but it didn't help.

I'm calling the help-desk.

I'm enjoying this weekend. Fabulous.

Because:

I'm not burdened by any work.

I get REST.

I was watching tv in my living room the other day. It was during one of those lousy moments where all channels ganged up on having commercials at the same time. Bored, I looked around. All of a sudden, I felt it. Sometimes it just came like dat. Totally awesome. I actually feel blessed with a simple life. For a moment I didn't feel like a loser lazing ard at home on a weekend acheiving nothing but more fats. I was a winner!

Yes. We only live once. But how many of us get a chance to be simple?

Strawberries!

Woo! Look at this! See how this strawberry compares to an ordinary pen!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Some vendor came to our company canteen to sell fruits today. Had a sudden craving for strawberries and saw them at $5/ box. I usually dun buy local strawberries. Rather, I usually dun buy strawberries locally. Reason being, they are sour. Not nice at all. My best strawberry experience was at Cameron last year. Cool and nice weather. Sweet-tasting strawberries that reminded me of ice popsicles. Wow.

I took up a box of strawberries on display and asked the uncle, "Are these sweet?" Dat was a real dumb question. Realised it only after asking. Wah lau. Which fruit seller would say dat their stawberries are not sweet? I wasn't really convinced with Uncle's reply though, and he could see dat. Because, he reached below his stall and pulled out another box of strawberries, and guaranteed dat they are sweet.

Of coz guarantee sweet lah. $12 for a box of 16 leh. Which goes down to $0.75 each. Siao bo? Never eaten such luxurious ones man! But they are so nice and big and looks so sweet!!!

My TL suggested dat we share a box and I happily agreed.

I enthusiatically washed one to try after lunch.

Wwwwwwoooooooooooowwwwwwwww.....

Shiok!

So sssssswwwwwweeeeettttttt..... mmmmmmm.....

It's the best strawberry I've ever tasted in my entire life! $0.75 each was more than worth man. Totally brightened up my day. It's been quite sometime since I've had such uplifting experiences with food.

God sent an angel to deliver a piece of GOOD news to me today.

I was moved to tears. I should have felt happier than winning Miss Singapore. But somehow it doesn't feel as good inside. I feel, .... em.... vexed.

Tink some of u might have known already. Will let in the details later. Anyone who asks me about it now will get piles. Dun even try.

The feeling just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Something is indeed very wrong. Damn. Is this premature quarter life crisis?

My work sucks, my toe hurts, I'm losing my frens to their bfs, I meet insensitive people and plagiarising thieves, I stay home indulging in self-pity during weekends. Totally unbearable. Argh! I just wanna SSSSCCCCRRRREEEAAAAMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All these time, I stayed positive. I consoled myself that things were already at the rock bottom, wat could be worse? It had to get better somehow. Perhaps, I under-estimated the power of my suay-ness. I had not fallen to the bottom as yet. I hope I am able to hold on till things get better. Or will they?

There were umpteen times when I felt like crying my heart out. As if going to work with a sore toe was not pathetic enough, I was so caught up with work dat I had no time for breakfast and lunch. My first meal of the day consisted of 2 pieces of rice crackers and 3 rochers at 7.45pm. Never had I starved myself like this before. Food is my life. Just thinking about it makes my eyes watery.

I'm gonna bury myself in my pillow and wallow in my sorrow-ness.

Leave me alone.

Zozo and Her Giant Toe

My left toe looks twice as big as it was last Thursday.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It hurts so much that I could only manage to move my ass ard with a limp. And because of this, my entire body weight now falls on one other able leg. After a 1km walk to and fro the doc, my leg's sorer than before and right leg's tired from body weight strain. Wat a sucky way to start my week.

Called in for MC today coz I can't get dat elephant toe into those heels. I can't even walk on flats properly. It hurts so much that I feel like swearing. Tamade.

The bandage session by the doc left me in derangement. She pulled open my wound mercilessly. The antibiotic cleanser left a tingling sensation. Painful sia. I tink I might have pulled out some of the sponge on the bed because dat was the only thing I could grab hold of. Mummy had scurried to the corner of the room to escape my claws. Application of the cream was alright until doc poked the wound with the cotton bud. It started bleeding again and tainted the entire cotton bud in red. Gross.

I wished she had given me some anesthetic. The pain still remains and I'm still grouchy.

Pain, pain, pain

Uneasiness all over. My left wisdom tooth is still stubbornly growing. I am seriously considering an extraction. Tamade. Wat a "great" timing; just when I do not have any dental benefits.

Surgeon Tan- My mummy (Her maiden surname is Tan lah) performed a 15 mins operation and successfully extracted the in-grown nail, less than 1mm long. However, she left numerous injuries on my left toe and it's now suffering from complications, bleeding and hurting non-stop since Thurs nite.

Obviously the Chinese oinment Dad highly recommended did not work. Applied it for the past few days and the bleeding didn't stop. It comes on and off. Damn. I can't accept the fact dat I'm losing blood other than dat few days of the mth.

Anyway, it hurts BIG time (both the tooth and the toe) and it's making me grouchy. Its 12.15am and one of my frens just called and insisted a chat. Wah lau. How insensitive and INSENSIBLE (or issit unsensible?) can my frens get? Result: Got shoo-ed off by me.

Please only call Aunt Aggie during office hours.

Kinship Monster

I had to blog about this. Simply cannot let it go.

Last nite, one of my cousins, one who is very very close to my brother, came knocking on our door with a woman. It was totally disgusting.

The very moment I opened my door, I could predict wat was coming. Two pretend-to-be happy pple, two broad smiles. My cousin claimed that he was around thearea so he thought of just popping by to say "hi".

Illogical Bullshit 1: My brother's probably still camouflaging himself in some forest somewhere eating cold sardines and the rest of my family is not close to him at all. Wats the big idea about coming all the way up to the 6th floor to just say "hi"? Too free ah?

I wanted so much to just say "hi" back and ask him to get lost. Being the nice gal I am, I invited him and the unidentified gal in.

Let's give the gal a nick. I love giving pple nicks. And I'm super good at it. Ha.

UFO- Unidentified F***ing Obasan. Woo~ Good one. I can't stand myself. I'm so damn creative. She's not as old as an obasan, but I just wanna call her dat.

Wrong move to be a nice and hospitable person; I almost jeopardised my darling Rara because of this.

"Ohhhhh...sooooo cuuuuutttteeeeee.... does she belong to you all?"

Illogical Bullshit 2: Not belong to us den belong to who? Or she thought we belonged to Rara? Kaoz.

Her "ohhs" and "ahhs" woke my Rara up from her nap. I feel no less grouchier than Rara. I got totally pissed and went into my room, leaving my mummy to entertain them. They amazingly spent almost half an hour on Rara before moving on to their real motive for saying "hi".

My cousin is a MLM member. Dealing with some magnetic mattress thingy. He's here with his "leader" to con my innocent mummy of her hard-earned money. Most of the time it was UFO doing the talking. "Aunty, because u know KM (nick for my cousin), den we know of this really good pdt, dats y we come and recommend you one. Good things must share with people close to us right?" "A lot of pple have been cured by just by sleeping on this mattress u noe?

Illogical Bullshit 3: Mattress can heal den wat for we need doctors?

I heard my mummy's bitter laughter loud and clear from my room. Hahaha...she must be thinking about how crappy they are too. I have a smart motherwho sometimes pretend to be suffering from senile dementia. They went at it for another one hour or so, until my mother managed to convince them dat $3000 was simply too "unaffordable for commoners like us, so they went on to hard-sell another pdt.

A pillow. It's supposed to work as well as the mattress as claimed, only covering a smaller area. This one costs $174. Rejected by my mummy for the same reason as the mattress. They should have realised by now dat my mummy is a hard nut to crack. Thus, they decided to launch an attack on the weakness of all mothers, their softhearts.

"Aunty, KM really needs your support. He's a really hardworking boy, I see him work so hard I also pity him. Dats y i agreed to come with him to talk to you. He has a target to meet and thus really need u to support him with some pdts today."

Illogical Bullshit 5: Working hard at cheating housewives' money? Btw, where can u find work not hard one? Tell me where and I go apply for it.

Finally, at their very last attempt, they digged their bags, flipped thru their files and... changed their products from mattresses and pillows to health supplements.

Siao bo? Doremon ah? So many products.

It was another round of hard-selling for the next half an hour and I knock off and go sleep because I was confident dat my mummy was an intelligent aunty. Suddenly, I overheard, "... Thanks for supporting him leh.."

Damn. Lousy mummy. Crafty UFO. I sprang outta bed and went to mummy's rescue. "Huh? U buying wat hah?" From here, I took over the baton of tackling these 2 cheaters and after a 10mins battle, I emerged victorious. *Applause please*

Cuse me, I'm not a marketing student for nothing okie? I know all the tricks of such con-men/women. Dun try them on me, coz it will never work. Besides, I'm a smart consumer.

Alright, this entry is kinda long.

And I've not come to the main point yet. *Pengz*

I just wanna say, I despise people who make use of kinship ties (one of the most precious things in the world) for self monetary benefits. You are no different from the magic stone seller.

Wonderland University

This is an entry which I wanted to write long time ago but shelved it and den forgot about it because there were simply too many nerve-wrecking incidents happening at the same time.

Oh, this is NOT a "yuan" entry, its one dats full of excitement and enthusiasm. (Note the excessive and abusive use of exclamation marks.)

Let's back track to 2 weeks ago:

I just enrolled myself in a course at Wonderland University! (they literally call it that name, just change "wonderland" to my company's.)

So excited! Apparently ALL employees (perm and contract) are students in the University and we need to enrol ourselves (via the intranet) in courses relevant to our "field". Some are compulsory, some are not. For those employees without a PC of their own (mainly production), they can sign up for the course and attend a lecture and complete it "manually" too.

Okies, back to my course.

Its an online course and after enrolling into it and choosing to take it right away, I was brought to a powerpt screen. My laptop's my tutor cum lecturer. As I go thru the slides, one question popped up in my head. "Is there gonna be a test or quiz at the end of the course? If so, do I need to jot down notes not?" To be safe, I took out my notebook and started jotting down notes. Just like schooling days. I quite enjoy it, even though I do felt stupid at times.

Ah ha! I was right! There was indeed a quiz! Just 4 qns and I got 3/4! Argh! So difficult! Considering myself of extraordinary calibre and the questions to be of normal standards, I thot I would get full marks! I will not be discouraged. It's only my first module. Just warming up.

With dat, I completed the course! And even got a certificate for it! So happy! My first module and cert from Wonderland University sia!

Here's wat it says:

This certifies that ZOLYNN ONG has completed *ABC1234 (Course name) on the 07 April 2005.
Credit hours: 0.5.

*Name has been changed to protect the course.

Still got credit hours somemore huh? Like our modular credits in Uni last time!
So CUTE!!!!

Let me see what other courses I wanna enrol in. Maybe I could become a Wonderland scholar!
