Hot Yoga- Very Hot Sia!

Ever heard of hot yoga? I had a go at it on Monday at Bikram Yoga in Cityhall. Check out their website at http://www.bikramyoga.com/.

I only have a piece of advice for all first timers- VERY HOT SIA!

Wah lau... I must say, it was the most traumatic experience since I started working. Never have I felt so physically challenged. Hot Yoga, as its name suggests, meant doing Yoga in a hot room at 40 degrees celsius. Imagine doing all the "stunts" in a sauna room. Just 15 mins into the class, I felt dizzy and nauseous already. Imagine, the entire class was to last for 90 donkey minutes! *faintz*

Anyway, I did what I could, so as not to waste the walk in rate of $40. Every 5 mins, I would sit down and rested like 10 mins. I only felt that I was breathing and alive through the 10 mins breaks. As soon as I stood up, I started blacking out. Basically, I couldn't even stand properly, not to mention doing any "stunts". Well, I'm not a very flexible person to start off with.

It only adds on to my pain that my instructor spoke with a real strong Indian accent. "Frenchman, Frenchman. Look at the Frenchman. " he spoke. I thought, "Where got Angmoh in my class? Siao ah? Only 4 students mah, 1, 2, 3, 4... all Chinese leh... don't tell me he saw someone whom I didn't see hor..." It was when he frantically pointed to the mirror in front that I realised that,

FRENCHMAN= FRONT MIRROR!

Argh.. as if I pek chek enough. Tamade.

The entire 90 mins was like eternal hell. For the first time in my life, I thought I was going to die (Okie, apart from the ordeal 10 years ago where I was stuck with a 6 hour hill trek with no water). By the time the class ended, I was an entire wreck. Messy hair, dizzy head, overwhelming nauseousness and wobbly legs. What the hell.

Most pathetically, after everything, I failed to lose any weight, did not feel healthier, still couldn't sleep well at night and, now my entire body's aching!

No more hot yoga for me.
I've had the best hashbrowns for breakfast today. Woohoo~

I just don't understand why you have to talk to me in circles. If you have anything that you are so f***ing unhappy about, have the guts to tell me straight in the face. IF, the situation would remain status quo even after your tremendous efforts to rephrase words into hidden meanings then in circles, probably you wanna consider shutting up?

I'm sick of all your childish efforts to place your intented messages into strings of unintelligible words. If it has ever crossed your bloody minute and rusty brain that I am just another sweet little lamb who shudders and suffers in silence against your verbal insults, YOU ARE SO WRONG!

I sincerely hope you fall into a smelly drain.

I've been missing a bit on blogging because I was "busy" settling some emotional issues at work. Don't wanna talk about it much here. Will cause too much of controversy.

It's kinda hard and there were umpteen times when I just feel like giving up. But, everytime I turn to backing out and surrendering, my inner voice would go, "No! Don't fall into the traps of such callous people!" The more I think about it, the more advices I get from close friends, I just got more determined to fight back.

Arghhhhh.... I'm thinking about my golden turtle again.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Recommendation for the week...

AZABU SABO JAPANESE RESTAURANT AT MARINA SQUARE LEVEL 1
(located next to Billy Bombers' and MacDonalds)

I came this restaurant like 3 weeks ago, after a hearty dinner (FYI, all my dinners are hearty) with Piggy. We were exploring the newly opened area of the shopping centre when Piggy commented that there was this restaurant with a lousy name called "SABO". Sabo as in Sabo King, you know. Hahaha. Curiously, we checked it out and...

WOW! The first thing I saw was the ice -kachang like strawberry sundae in the display window... Woooo....

We both stood in front of the display and went like "Oh, I like this!", "This one looks good!", "What's this?", "Next time I come, I wanna order this, this, this and THIS!"

We vowed to try it out one day...

And ta-da! On the day of Munich, we happily prepared (this time, with an empty stomach) for Sabo.

I ordered a minced beef and vegetable rice with omelette soup while Piggy had the teriyaki chicken bento. Wow... the food looks as good as it looks! Piggy commented, though, that the bento was too shallow, so guys, or frens with bigger appetities, you might wanna consider alternatives.

The minced beef and vegetable rice was absolutely delicious, imagine 梅菜扣肉 on rice.... Omelette was em, not that fantastic though. I had expected it to have some kinda filling or watsoever, but nah, just plain omelette in soup.

For dessert, we shared a vanilla ice-cream on sweet potato with green tea. Heavenly... who would have expected that the combination of sweet potato with ice-cream would be so great? Cold, milky vanilla ice-cream on a semi-warm sweet potato croquette, topped with a bit of green tea syrup. An unforgettable experience.

Last but not least, I have to specially say, the lady boss (I speculated she was because she was the only one around not in uniform, serving customers) is a 气质美女! (Soo, take note. Dunno if she's taken though, so good luck!)

Since that visit, I've become addicted to that place. I went back a second time the following week, this time armed with my new baby- Canon IXUS 60! Woohoo~ You all are in luck! Here's what was ordered this time...

Before anyone starts entertaining wild thoughts, I didn't order all these for myself loh! Went with 2 other pple lah! *Cold stare*

Anyway, I heard from one of my colleagues that this restaurant came from Taiwan. No wonder! (for the fusion between Chinese and Japanese.)

You all gotta check it out! No eat also must go see the 气质美女老板娘...

A Friend's Visit

Being a friendly and helpful Aunty, my mummy volunteered as a nanny to her colleague's bunny while the whole family went for a holiday in Australia.

Being the daughter of the friendly and helpful Aunty, I was given the sacred task of ensuring that our guest was well taken care of, because our nice, friendly and helpful Aunty forgot that she has to go to work?

Initially, we wanted to put the 2 bunnies together, (a gentle reminder that I too own, not by any coincidence watsoever, a rabbit.) but, the over-friendliness of dear Rara shoke our little friend a bit.

Me and mummy decided to separate the 2 of them. After all, I don't want risk:

1. having Rara develop any kinda feelings during his short stay here and be left lovelorn when kaypoh Aunty's colleague collects him back later.
2. having our dear cute bunny friend became a victim of rape.

It's not such a good move to separate them, I soon realised. Feeding time became hectic time. Being a hospitable host, I decided to feed our guest first.

Alright, let me see...
Diet: Green vegetables.

Huh? Just green vegetables ah? God, he doesn't take carrots? No pellets? No bananas??? Hmm.. easy to feed sia. I watched him munch up the leaves with great pleasure.. So cute! Per my usual practice for feeding Rara, I wanted to pull out the stalk after he finished the leaves BUT, he went on to munch up all! Including the stalk! Alamak! What a good little boy! No food wastage at all. Totally not like Rara. Her machine gun mouth automatically stops the moment she detects end of leave and beginning of stalk. I'm beginning to like him...

In the midst of feeding our friend, the terror on the other side of the house started protesting. I hear her stampings of her foot, scratching of partitions, and aggressive lifting and dropping of her cage door. Damn. A hungry and jealous rabbit is not to be trifled with.

I quickly shoved one big stalk of vegetables into good little bunny friend's cage and went on to "serve" the little princess. As usual, feeding her was a time consuming and tiring event. You gotta keep your hands still, for she cannot tolerate hovering carrots and vegetables. You can't leave her to eat on her own, for she only eats with family around.

Well, you might think that it's no big deal feeding just 2 rabbits, but what happens if the nice and cute bunny friend's vegetables dropped out of his cage? Shit. I had to soothe and calm my Rara down, run 10-12 metres over to the other side to "recover" the fallen leaves and run all the way back to attend to princess. And just after settling down back with Rara, our bunny friend's vegetable's dropped again! Tamade. I did the thru and fro like "n" times. Boy was I panting and sweating from it all.

That's not all. Our cute little bunny friend took on the characteristics of a domestic rabbit really well. He scringes at the slightest bit of sound and would start hiding in the corner of his cage thereafter. I kept my decibel index at a whole year low point for the entire day. I swear, I almost made it to the Guniness World of Records.

Munich

Went to catch Munich yesterday. Not too bad, was better than what I had expected. No bumpy camera scenes and no excessive conversations and bloodshed. Good.

Munich (pronounced as "Miu Nick", not "Moo Nudge") is a place in Germany, not the name of somebody. Haha.

I find it rather intriguing though, that, they had Chinese subtitles whenever the actors and actresses spoke in English, and when they turned to Hebrew, there were no subtitles! No wonder I left the cinema with a sense of incompleteness. Duh.

Overall moral of the story- 冤冤相报何时了.

It's been a really long long time since I felt soooooo tired. I went all goggly at 6pm last evening, a result of not having slept a wink the night before. I used to be able to "thon" for 2 nights in a row... for chalets especially. Age must be really catching up.

It's kinda an irony that, the times where we spent never-ending hours slogging our guts out is before retirement, and studies have shown and proven that old people do not need much sleep. Too much work and deprived of sleep during younger days, no work and cannot sleep when we're grey.. What the hell??
I realised that nowadays, I blog with plenty of "I"s. "I" this, "I" that... This could only mean one thing... I'm turning into a self centred freak! Argh...

OR,

My life revolves about nothing else but myself. But, that's sounds logical. Of course MY life revolves about ME. If not, then WHO?

It's all a contradiction again. I'm confused again. I'm confusing my readers again.

This entry is so incoherent that I've decided to stop.

Somehow, I find myself turning to blogging during my "waiting-to-consolidate-other-pple's-report-and-nothing-to-do-meanwhile" times. Shucks. Looking at the number of times I blogged for the past month, GOODNESS! What a whole lot of time wasted. My youth, my youth, MY YOUTH!!! Gone with the lalang... tamade.

Well, the good news is, you people see more of my crap here.

Again, Again, Again!!!

I woke up in pain this morning...

by a familiar pulsing sensation...

MY TOE!!!

It glared back hard at me, red and swollen by the side.

Damn. In-growth toe nail again.

Tamade. Why always me???

I was looking through my archives of songs just now and saw our song. I realised I hadn't played it since you left. Rather, I realised I was afraid to play it, lest it brought back disappointment and hurt.

At this moment, images of me typing a "hi", then deleting it and then closing the conversation window altogether during the times you came online starting flashing. Maybe it was harder for me to let go than I thought. Silly me!
I am going for my first Townhall today!

So happy. It'll be like a half day off for me, since tea starts at 2.30pm. Yay yay yay!

It's been almost 8 months since I got my blue citzenship but I've been deprived of our quarterly townhall for the previous 2 times. This time, nothing can stop me! I am keeping my fingers crossed...

I hope to take some pictures this time. Realised that this blog has been pictureless for so long. And I feel so damn handicapped sia. Pictures just can say so much more than words sometimes. Argh! I still cannot upload from my phone. Damn, I gotta broaden my network, seriously.

My mother discovered a new way to get to Chinatown from the eastern part of our island during one of the gossip sessions with the aunties at work. Last Saturday, she and I enthusiatically tried it out this new service- CT18. Easterners, you all should try it out. Very fast sia, a mere 30 mins from Bedok to Chinatown only! There is a CT8 and CT28 too,all going to Chinatown but I'm not sure where they start from.

Anyway, other than it being fast, what amazes me was, there was a lucky draw during our ride! Rather, it was more like a scratch and win. The bus driver distributed us some application forms and all we had to do was to put down our names and contact numbers. And after that each of us were given ang pows, with prizes inside! Both mummy and I won "1 complimentary ride on Chinatown riders." and we used it on our way back. Tan Teoh!

I believe there is a grand draw too, of which I remember some prizes to be plasma tvs, some pots/ claypots and food vouchers etc. I hope I win the plasma tv!

So people, you can seriously considering this alternative to the MRT the next time you visit Chinatown. Oh, but take note that the lucky draw and ang pow promotion ends in mid Feb. Shucks. Just realised we are already in mid Feb. Never mind. No more bargain or lucky draw chances but at least this new route is saves time.

I practically dragged myself to work today. Probably nua-ed much during this festive break. Who came up "Xiu1 Xi1 Shi1 Wei4 Le4 Zou3 Gen4 Chang2 Yuan3 De4 Luu4"? Bullshit loh! I feel like Xiu1 Xi1-ing forever now. Arghhh.

Worked on a report till late last night and was super tired by the time I got to bed. Probably too stressed and grouchy over the fact that I gotta work today, I couldn't sleep.

Tossed and turned for close to 2 hours. Finally, after 2 rounds of Monopoly on my handphone, I fell deep into slumber.

Less than 7 hours later, I was at my desk, struggling to finish up the last bit of my report....

And then,

A mere "I think we will not publish the report for this week" easily brought my efforts down the drain.

Tamade. I am pissed.

Me and my Wonderland colleagues were talking about getting Bua Gua for CNY the other day when one of them shared this story with me...

Rumoured had it that long ago, before this famous-for-long-queue Ba Kua shop became the hottest place during CNY, no one knew and heard about it. Competition was stiff and the Ba Kua stall was going through difficult times...

Then, the owner came up with a brillant idea. He played on the fact that Singaporeans are by nature kaypoh and followers, so he employed people from all walks of life to start queuing for his ba kuas... True enough, many were attracted by the long queue outside his shop and went to queue too, wanting to find out exactly how special their Ba Kuas are. Legend has it that the owner only has to create this kinda sensation continuously for 2 years, and from then onwards, he longer has to pay people to queue.

So, the morale of the story is...

The stiffer the competition, the higher the perceived value.

I am hiring people to pretend to woo me. Wage dependent on novelty of woo-ing methods/ideas, sincerity and acting skills. All props used during course of act will be fully claimable. (That is provided act is successful in attracting the right people.) ABNNs and those below 1.7m in height need not apply.

Clause: Above Ba-gua story should not be taken at face value as the truth.

Chinese New Year 2006

Finally, the year of the Doggy is here to replace the reigning Rooster. No more "fan4 tai4 sui4" for me! Well, it's time for me to come out of hibernation and make a name for myself. Keke.

Before I make plans, let me refer to the almanac...

".....romance luck is scarce..."

I thew the almanac away the very next day.

Why should I allow a lifeless object determine my fate and destiny? What's more, I don't even know the author!

Somehow this CNY doesn't feel like the usual CNY at all. I failed to get my Lim Chee Gxxx Bua Gua, Mummy failed to order the "pillow-shaped" pineapple tarts, we didn't have steamboat for reunion and my favourite home-made Ghor Hiang by Granny did not make it in time!!! Argh...

Nevertheless, I still managed to get sore throat and almost over-ate and suffered indigestion(again) in my attempt to close the "emptiness" caused by the missing items above.

Chu1 Yi1 was the usual visiting at both Grannies house. Nothing spectacular.

Met up with ex-shitty hole colleagues at Soo's place during Chu1 Er4. Boy, all are looking good! Those who left really found greener pasture, those who are still there seemed contented with whatever shitty hole has to offer. Good. Contentment brings peace and joy.

Toon finally brought Grace officially to our gatherings. Either he has had enough of my constant nagging or he brought her as a "shield" to my harrassment. Ha. Fatt Choy brought her new boyfriend too. I'm happy she got out of the clutches of the old one and found "spring".

We had quite a couple of rounds of blackjack and I won $39! Shucks. Almanac quite "zhun"-- "Du3 Chang3 De2 Yi4, Qing2 Chang3 Shi1 Yi4..."

I looked back and saw how stressed and suicidal I was 2 weeks ago, where I had so many things to clear on my plate. I should be looking back 2 weeks from now and feel relieved that I have time for my family, frens, Rara etc. But...

Nnnnnnnnoooooooooo.....

How come I feel that my rice bowl's in jeopardy?

Somehow there is this strong feeling that when my projects are done, my boss will just wave goodbye with a mere "Thank you for your participation."

I swear these are not my wild thoughts. I admit I'm very sensitive most times, but this time, it's different. It's so obvious. New products were loaded to my colleagues. Nothing for me. We (me and him) had a discussion about this sometime in Sep, and he simply brushed it off with "Well, plans for you will be aligned to plans for the team as a whole..." And the only thing I gather at that time, it meant no specific/ special plan for me at all.

Now, not to mention he had no SPECIFIC/ SPECIAL plan for me, there isn't even ANY! Oh no. Not good at all. My future's bleak.

It's a wake-up call to flip those papers and update my online resumes again. I better start losing some weight for that "professional" passport size photo.

A great piece of news to share with you all.

Woohoohoohoo... nah, not getting married lah.

I am relieved of daily reports! Yay! Actually, wouldn't consider this news. Some of you know already. Ha.

Anyways, just an update for those who haven't been meeting up with me and is deprived because I blog like once in a blue moon.

Great way to start the new year sia. Two cheers for my boss! One cheer minus-ed off because of the stress and frustration she put me through on and off.

MUAHAHAHAHA.. I am getting my life back! No more dormant Zozo... Everybody, put me back to your "active friend" list!!! Wow. Like chong2 chu1 jiang1 hu2 like dat.

My mummy's happy, my Rara's happy, my single frens are happy and I AM HAPPY. Alright, I think I made my point.
