Kinship Monster
I had to blog about this. Simply cannot let it go.
Last nite, one of my cousins, one who is very very close to my brother, came knocking on our door with a woman. It was totally disgusting.
The very moment I opened my door, I could predict wat was coming. Two pretend-to-be happy pple, two broad smiles. My cousin claimed that he was around thearea so he thought of just popping by to say "hi".
Illogical Bullshit 1: My brother's probably still camouflaging himself in some forest somewhere eating cold sardines and the rest of my family is not close to him at all. Wats the big idea about coming all the way up to the 6th floor to just say "hi"? Too free ah?
I wanted so much to just say "hi" back and ask him to get lost. Being the nice gal I am, I invited him and the unidentified gal in.
Let's give the gal a nick. I love giving pple nicks. And I'm super good at it. Ha.
UFO- Unidentified F***ing Obasan. Woo~ Good one. I can't stand myself. I'm so damn creative. She's not as old as an obasan, but I just wanna call her dat.
Wrong move to be a nice and hospitable person; I almost jeopardised my darling Rara because of this.
"Ohhhhh...sooooo cuuuuutttteeeeee.... does she belong to you all?"
Illogical Bullshit 2: Not belong to us den belong to who? Or she thought we belonged to Rara? Kaoz.
Her "ohhs" and "ahhs" woke my Rara up from her nap. I feel no less grouchier than Rara. I got totally pissed and went into my room, leaving my mummy to entertain them. They amazingly spent almost half an hour on Rara before moving on to their real motive for saying "hi".
My cousin is a MLM member. Dealing with some magnetic mattress thingy. He's here with his "leader" to con my innocent mummy of her hard-earned money. Most of the time it was UFO doing the talking. "Aunty, because u know KM (nick for my cousin), den we know of this really good pdt, dats y we come and recommend you one. Good things must share with people close to us right?" "A lot of pple have been cured by just by sleeping on this mattress u noe?
Illogical Bullshit 3: Mattress can heal den wat for we need doctors?
I heard my mummy's bitter laughter loud and clear from my room. Hahaha...she must be thinking about how crappy they are too. I have a smart motherwho sometimes pretend to be suffering from senile dementia. They went at it for another one hour or so, until my mother managed to convince them dat $3000 was simply too "unaffordable for commoners like us, so they went on to hard-sell another pdt.
A pillow. It's supposed to work as well as the mattress as claimed, only covering a smaller area. This one costs $174. Rejected by my mummy for the same reason as the mattress. They should have realised by now dat my mummy is a hard nut to crack. Thus, they decided to launch an attack on the weakness of all mothers, their softhearts.
"Aunty, KM really needs your support. He's a really hardworking boy, I see him work so hard I also pity him. Dats y i agreed to come with him to talk to you. He has a target to meet and thus really need u to support him with some pdts today."
Illogical Bullshit 5: Working hard at cheating housewives' money? Btw, where can u find work not hard one? Tell me where and I go apply for it.
Finally, at their very last attempt, they digged their bags, flipped thru their files and... changed their products from mattresses and pillows to health supplements.
Siao bo? Doremon ah? So many products.
It was another round of hard-selling for the next half an hour and I knock off and go sleep because I was confident dat my mummy was an intelligent aunty. Suddenly, I overheard, "... Thanks for supporting him leh.."
Damn. Lousy mummy. Crafty UFO. I sprang outta bed and went to mummy's rescue. "Huh? U buying wat hah?" From here, I took over the baton of tackling these 2 cheaters and after a 10mins battle, I emerged victorious. *Applause please*
Cuse me, I'm not a marketing student for nothing okie? I know all the tricks of such con-men/women. Dun try them on me, coz it will never work. Besides, I'm a smart consumer.
Alright, this entry is kinda long.
And I've not come to the main point yet. *Pengz*
I just wanna say, I despise people who make use of kinship ties (one of the most precious things in the world) for self monetary benefits. You are no different from the magic stone seller.

Wonderland University
Oh, this is NOT a "yuan" entry, its one dats full of excitement and enthusiasm. (Note the excessive and abusive use of exclamation marks.)
Let's back track to 2 weeks ago:
I just enrolled myself in a course at Wonderland University! (they literally call it that name, just change "wonderland" to my company's.)
So excited! Apparently ALL employees (perm and contract) are students in the University and we need to enrol ourselves (via the intranet) in courses relevant to our "field". Some are compulsory, some are not. For those employees without a PC of their own (mainly production), they can sign up for the course and attend a lecture and complete it "manually" too.
Okies, back to my course.
Its an online course and after enrolling into it and choosing to take it right away, I was brought to a powerpt screen. My laptop's my tutor cum lecturer. As I go thru the slides, one question popped up in my head. "Is there gonna be a test or quiz at the end of the course? If so, do I need to jot down notes not?" To be safe, I took out my notebook and started jotting down notes. Just like schooling days. I quite enjoy it, even though I do felt stupid at times.
Ah ha! I was right! There was indeed a quiz! Just 4 qns and I got 3/4! Argh! So difficult! Considering myself of extraordinary calibre and the questions to be of normal standards, I thot I would get full marks! I will not be discouraged. It's only my first module. Just warming up.
With dat, I completed the course! And even got a certificate for it! So happy! My first module and cert from Wonderland University sia!
Here's wat it says:
This certifies that ZOLYNN ONG has completed *ABC1234 (Course name) on the 07 April 2005.
Credit hours: 0.5.
*Name has been changed to protect the course.
Still got credit hours somemore huh? Like our modular credits in Uni last time!
So CUTE!!!!
Let me see what other courses I wanna enrol in. Maybe I could become a Wonderland scholar!

Life has started to become meaningless. Wake up, go to work, work, eat, work, go home, eat, watch tv and sleep. Then the entire routine starts all over again the next day. Weekends are spent on gym, bible studies, stuffing myself with food, watching tv and doing nothing.
I have no goal in life. I know what I want but things just don't happen the way I want it to. It seems to come so naturally and easily for people around me. Is there something awfully wrong with me?
I feel like leaving everything behind and just go away. Back packing or luxurious travelling. Anything with no material worries.
I'm so sick and tired of leading such a mundane life, and the thought of having to live such a life for the next 30 years of my life is certainly very depressing.
Either I need a new hobby or I need a man.
AAS #003: Forgive and Forget?
Do these 2 "F"s go together?
To me, they don't.
I forgive, but why should I forget? Some might argue that it is impossible to forgive when you don't forget. If we remember it, it means that we have not let it go. Is this really true?
Let's look at this from the other viewpoint. If we forget, does it always mean we forgive? Some people try to throw that bit of the most painful memories to the end of the world. Either through means of another relationship or through work or simply destroying all things that reminds them of the bitter times and etc. Is it really workable? Will he/she erase that part of their memories completely? Even if he/she does, it doesn't mean that he/she has forgiven all the damages done to him/her.
If relationships are called matters of the "heart", why are we using our "brain" to resolve what came from the heart? Shouldn't we tackle the root of the problem? As a Chinese saying goes, " Jie ling hai xu xi ling ren" (The best person who can untie the bell is the one who tied it in the first place). It only goes to show that only when our heart has forgiven the person, then are we able to let the matter go. Which brings us back to my main point. We forgive at heart, but we do not need to forget.
Why should we forget anyway? Of course, Aunt Aggie strongly discourages aimlessly harping on these tramautic experiences and holding onto unappreciative partners. But when we forgive, we already release ourselves from such unneccessary emotional torture.
All memories are precious to us as learning lessons in life. Good memories bring us joy and laughter. Even up till this day. So what use are of bad memories then? Yes! Correct! As useful learning experiences in life. Notice that the more times a toddler falls in his/her attempts to learn to walk, the faster he/she picks it up? We learn best from our own mistakes.
This applies to relationships too. Its part and parcel of building a strong foundation. Although sometimes you heard people say that they feel like they've known their partners for an entire lifetime, it doesn't happen 99% of the time. Not even your parents know you for an entire lifetime. We go through difference phases in life. Family took a large part of our life as a child, then we slowly proceeded to friends and confidates as we started schooling and then came our life partners and working colleagues, for the majority of us. Since he/she wasn't there for the previous part of your life, how can you expect that he/she knows your entire thoughts and feelings and your relationship to be smooth sailing and without differences at all?
What matters most is how you deal with these conflicts and differences. Ask yourself, why are we arguing over this same thing again? Is it because he/she repeats the "mistake" (at least in your eyes it is a mistake) because he/she can't change for you or is it you who can't accept that*? (*That : the fact that he/she can't change or the mistake.)
If so, and its affecting the relationship so much, perhaps the two of you need to reconsider continuing? Of course, if you two can compromise and solve it together and not let it be a problem anymore, then congrats! You've succeeded in bringing the relationship to another level!
So, make every "wrong" in a relationship a constant reminder not to repeat mistakes that will hurt the one you love. And treasure all moments that you have with each other.

Heaven Plays Sport of Man
I met Blackie in Thailand. Would never ever link this "romantic" encounter to my lousy casual wish until one of my ex-colleague reminded me, "Hey, thot u wanted a tall, DARK and handsome boyfriend? Blackie is tall not? Blackie is dark for sure! And Blackie might be considered handsome in his country! See, God granted you your wish!"
*thunderstorm*
For a moment I broke out in cold sweat.
Boy was I glad dat Blackie toned down and the matter sort of diminished after just a while. For a while I thot I was looking too much into it.
I was given a gentle reminder dat I was still under this wretched spell this morning.
It was 7.45am and I was walking doubly fast because I had to catch the 7.50 bus. As I approached the bus stop, someone just came in front of me and stopped me.
Then he said, "Hi, I see u almost every morning. So u stay ard this area too and take bus to work from here? Oh, I hope I've not scared you, just wanted to say hi since I see u here quite frequently."
Whatever his intention was, I must say I was irritated. I was in a hurry to catch my bus and due to the lack of sleep, I was totally grouchy. If he had wanted to get to know me, he chose a wrong timing and it was a totally lousy and crappy pick-up line.
"I see u here every morning" ==> Thanks for the attention. But its not mutual. Sorray.
"So u stay in this area too" ==> Ber den? Stay in Woodlands and den start walking all the way to Tampines to this bus stop ah?
"take the bus to work from here" ==> I didn't know I could take the MRT at a BUS-STOP. No go work den wake up so bloody early for wat? Ass itchy ah? And I didn't know when skirt and heels became uniforms for schools. Do I look dat young to be schooling anyway?
If he had no watsoever intention mentioned above, den I muz say he muz be a really BO LIAO or crazy person. Alright, alright, not gonna a meanie. He's just being friendly. Well, den he can always go strike a conversation with the curry puff hawker at the bus stop. He's there EVERYDAY too.
So how does this connect in any way to my curse? Well....
This super bo liao person is an Indian.
*thunderstorm again*
Tall (taller than me), Dark (okie lah, I muz say he can't fight Blackie on this but is rather fair for an Indian but still darker than normal) and Handsome (not bad lah).
God, this is a joke rite?

Dreamland
I just discovered an interesting place to sit down and collect my thoughts. And of coz, its the perfect place to dream, in broad daylight.
Picture this: You are sitting on what should be the 3rd storey of a HDB flat, with a clear view of six luxuriously furnished tennis courts. All surrounded by the beautiful green lush of mother nature. Avid tennis lovers and luminious tennis balls complemented the courts perfectly. The sun's just starting to set and you can feel the evening breeze across your face and hair gently. Perfect view, perfect weather, perfect music, perfect mood.
For a moment, contentment just filled me. I feel so lucky just to be able to enjoy all the simple things in life.
At this pt, Guang Liang's "Tong2 Hua4" came in and I was brought into a totally different dimension. Tennis ==> DT!
We are meeting to have a game with his best pals from JC. As usual, he got there earlier than me. There he stood, all geared up for his favourite activity. I'm not exactly a tennis person, but anything's fun with him. Much as I enjoyed the game and him, my body simply couldn't keep up with the intensity of the sport and him, sensing that, suggested dat I shd take a break. I was elated that he gave the "green light" for official "off-duty". Yay.
I moved on to get a cooling drink of Kiwi flavoured Gatorade and is sitting at a distance watching him conquering the court with his Olympical tennis skills. As the chorus sang, "I wanna transform myself into the angel in your fairytale, stretching out my arms and turning them into wings to protect you." I would be just like his angel, watching over him and protecting him from all harm. So blissful...
Right at this timely moment, I was disrupted by an sms from my fren. Wah lau!

Working Out
Muscles are starting a revolution because I went gym-ing last Sat. Hougang Gym- Great environment, great equipment, great company, great workout. One thing dats not dat great. Lousy instructor.
Gym instructors seem to have a thing for me. I always get very friendly and helpful instructors whenever I go to a public gym. Perhaps they could "see" that I do need PROFESSIONAL help. Or perhaps, I just attract the "sporty" guys. Ha. This is not funny at all.
Well, despite the presence of nosey instructors, I'm frequenting (is there such a word at all?) the gym. I love it too much. Oops, will I be attacting potential fan stalkers huh? Please arm yourself with a club sandwich for me if you ever intend stalk me there k? Thanks hah.
Caught an interesting show on TV last nite. Starred by Maggie Q. Woo~ the gals in there have great bodies! I'm so inspired to work my body out! Women look so much nicer in tight fitting clothes than men. And I dun wanna let this privilege go to waste. But its a damn cruel show sia. Not recommended for the faint-hearted and kids.
Realised that despite the fact that my muscles are aching, I feel so much alert and energised after working out. I have to make my body stronger. Fell sick at least once a mth since I started working in Wonderland. I used to only fall sick once a year when I was schooling sia. Could be signs of aging too.

My life is like rojak. Totally messed up. I feel like I'm losing myself.
Cruelties of life forced me to grow up. Mentally. I hate facing reality. Really. Life is not a bed of roses, I know. Life is full of ups and downs, I know. There are pple who will hurt you, especially close ones, I know. I am prepared for this world. But it still sucked when reality shows me how REAL such cruelties are.
Get those claws away from me! Stop polluting my mind! Quit playing mind games with me!
AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.....
I can't take it anymore.
I'm blacking out.

Return of the OLD "Yuan" Queen
Sorry to disappoint a lot of pple. BIG FAT ZOZO's BACK!
I can't believe how childishly I reacted over this plagiarism thingy. Plagiarism only mah. Chey! What's with the big fuss over it anyway? Nah. Thought things through. Dat plagiarism thief can go ahead and copy, because she will not get her way. In fact, I GOT MY WAY. Hahaha... My first "faithful"disciple. Soon, before you guys even know and realise it, you will be all under MY control! *evil witch laughter*
Oh, one more thing. Be warned that this entry also marks the comeback of the "yuan" Queen. I feel like a fish outta water without "yuan-ing". I simply LOVE "yuan-ing". Its just totally me.
Don't try to change me because you love me. Love me by accepting what I am, not who I am.

I will not be Pissed
I've always lament about superficial guys are, and dat explains y I'm still here. On the shelf. New and nice.
One day, one of my frens told me dat its because I "yuan" too much. Dat was wat are scaring those guys off. Despite the fact dat I told her I only "yuan" to close pple and those close pple are either gals or NOT in my "potentials" kinda list, she insisted dat I shd stop "yuan-ing" and dat will increase my chances of getting hitched.
Okie. One more chance for you guys out there. Prove to Lilin dat you are not superficial! Show her!
Because of this, my following entry, which was supposed to be SUPER "yuan", will not be "yuan".
Its 1.50pm now and I am a happy gal typing this entry on my laptop. Ohh... in like 10 mins time, I will make my appearance to my new dept and get started on my new job! I am so so excited! Oh... I am such a happy gal.
Wats makes me more happy is that I've not had lunch yet. Oh yeah! And its great to skip lunch! Great way to burn those excessive calories and fats accumulated all these years. Woo~ I'm so happy to be able to have this chance to skip lunch. Its such a wonderful experience!
*grrrr*
Oh, oops! Man, dats not my stomach protesting. Its your hallucination lah. Just skip one lunch mah, where got can get soooo hungry one??? Oh, and it doesn't matter dat I have gastric lah. Its okie actually. It wouldn't act up one. No worries. Coz I'm a happy gal mah. Happy can liao. No need to eat and worry about getting gastric pains.
Oh, and I shouldn't blame MIC also. Its not her fault dat she cannot finish her report. Its not her fault dat she told me to give her half an hour at 12.45pm. Its not her fault to make Zozo wait at her desk like an idiot for a whole 1 hour. Its not her fault to ignore Zozo's hints via msn and emails dat her half an hour is up. Its not her fault dat she is so irresponsible. Zozo shd thank her for giving Zozo's gastric a chance to act up and lose some weight! How often can Zozo's gastric act up now dat she has been so careful about her diet? Finally! Should pop champagne man!
Actually, its Zozo's fault! Who asked Zozo to be so nice to wait for her? Rite? Zozo shouldn't take MIC's word for real. She shd make a prediction by looking at the "stars" and know that MIC cannot finish her report on time. She shd. She shd.
But nvm! Despite the fact dat Zozo skipped lunch, the world is still revolving! Woohoo! Celebrate! And Zozo is damn positive and happy dat the world is still revolving! And guess wat? Her stomach is revolving too! Woohoo! Another reason to celebrate.
I am a happy gal and I am not a bit hungry.
I've Been Robbed
Not of my money. But of my intellectual property. I'm a victim of plagiarism.
Argh... side effects of fame.
Antidotes, anyone?

Fright Ride
Came in to work with a white face today. Nope, not power whitening mask. Reckless taxi driver, yeah.
Everything went well until we (me and the taxi uncle) saw the "signboard" before Tampines Road that says " Accident near Punggol exit, Massive Jam, Exit at Tampines Road".
Damn. Accident again. Always got accidents on Monday mornings one leh. So many kayu drivers in Singapore sia.
I suggested to the taxi uncle to take the route from Hougang by the Tampines Road exit instead. Which idiot would wanna be stuck in a jam?
"Oh, u in hurry ah?" Uncle asked.
"Yah, yah" I answered.
Bo liao question followed by a bo liao answer. Of coz I in hurry lah! If not I take taxi for wat???Assuming I am one of those pple who has too much money to throw down the drain and is taking a taxi although not in hurry, who would wanna get stuck in a traffic jam, where vehicles jerk every 30secs after moving 30cm and braking??? Will puke leh! Siao ah?
Okie. Nvm. I'm a nice gal, so will forgive uncle. Little did I know dat my reply sparkled off the "woohoo-finally-i- can-put-my-racing-skills-to-test" in uncle.
The next 5 mins was spent whisking his taxi in between vehicles in on relatively crowded road. Our taxi was practically only 10 cm apart from any vehicle. One time, he even went hot on heels on one motorcycle, almost touching his butt. Poor motorcyclist. My blood pressure was taken on a roller coaster ride. Tried to calm myself down till I saw the speedo-meter-- 100km/hr. I dun believe it. This speed on normal roads? That's the speed limit for expressways (extreme right lane) right? Correct me if I'm wrong, coz I passsed my basic theory like 5 years ago.
This uncle is absolutely crazy!!! Road hazard sia. For a moment I felt so guilty as an accomplice. Shdn't have said I was in a hurry at all.
Terror was not over.
We stopped at a traffic light and uncle was narrating a story where a couple tried to complain about him.
"Dat time ah, I was fetching a couple from Woodlands to KK hospital, den the wife was in pain, i thot she giving birth soon, so I just all the way ah! Whoa, took only 15mins and they complain of me dangerous driving ah. I where got dangerous? They in hurry mah. I am a PERFECT driver. More than 30 years of drving experience. I can even use my left hand to control the steering wheel and use my right hand to change gear ah! See, see..."
With this, he DEMOSTRATED how to use his right hand to change the gear! And left the steering wheel dangling there! He did this while we were moving on the road! Aaaaaahhhhhh......... Uncle uncle! I believe u, I believe you. No need to demo can? Smart lah, smart lah! God. My heart was in my mouth.
All I had in my mind was,
"Die lah, kena accident den I gotta be witness issit?"
"How to be witness hah?"
"To say the truth or not?"
"Will crazy uncle terrorize me if I told the truth?"
"Will I get police protection not?"
"Will the police officer protecting me be handsome not?"
"If got protection means cannot go home lah?"
"Aiyah! Forget to buy Rara's food! Die lah, under police protection can go out and buy rabbit food not?"
"Damn! The can of Pringles I kept in my cupboard! Sure saye khor!"
I tink too much again.
Thanking my lucky stars, I landed in Wonderland in ONE piece.
The government should do something about road hazards like this one.

Love Nest
My title sounds rather scandalous huh? Yo...What were you guys tinking?
Went to a jie mei's new home yesterday. Its weird dat its our first visit to her hse because she got married like, last June?
Her house's beautiful! Like those featured in those lifestyle magazines? Theme: Futuristic and WHITE. Yup. All white. It's rather impractical for lazy bums like me, coz level of maintainence = very high. Never expect Hoho to have such good taste. Maybe its her husband lah. Haha.
But its so nice! I like! Well, tink part of the reason I liked it was because its their love nest. Full of love in the house. Illustrated by the lovey-dovey couple pics, love notes to each other via "notice board" and all things that come in pairs (cushions etc). Woohhhh...
Oh... when can I ever have my own love nest?

"You Attract Sporty Guys"
This was the result I got from doing a "test" from a fren's website.
This test was supposed to analyse what type of guys would be most attracted to me. Highly recommended by my fren coz she said it was really accurate. Well...
Here's the detailed analysis (Its in Mandarin lah, but I translated it to English):
Simply put, sporty guys are attracted to you. Because they are very afraid of "Ma2 Fan2" (damn, wats the ang moh translation for this???), they love going out with innocent(I am innocent meh?) and straightforward (Yeah, this one's accurate. I hate going in circles) gals like you. The part that most attract you to them is that they do not have to engage in "deep" and intellectual conversations when they are with you. (Is this a compliment at all?)
"Zun"(accurate) meh???
From previous experience... not really leh. Hmm... maybe I didn't get to "see" their sporty side.
Hey! DT is sporty! *winks* I got chance! Yay!

Updates On Rara
Hey pple, tink I promised to blog about this but I forgot.
Made an appt with Dr. Chua on Sat because she wanted to:
1. Check on progress of Rara's recovering wound.
2. Conduct tests to determine reasons for Rara's blood in urine.
3. Examine discharge from Rara's left eye.
So, this was wat happened.
1. Rara's wound had shrunk quite a bit. Probably about 50%. And there was still thick layer of dead skin forming onto her wound. Dr. Chua pulled out watever she could (yes, she practically pulled). And even scrapped off some which was very near her skin. Gruesome sight. Yet I wanted to kaypoh and see. Ha. But got wobbly legs and almost blacked out after just 10mins. Got to be carried out by Mummy. Sia suay. I knew I could never be a surgeon.
2. Couldn't get any Rara's urine sample. Because she simply refused to pee dat day. Too bad. So, no tests could be conducted.
3. Dr. Chua suspected its a bacterial infection. Again. How come always bacteria one hah? Or maybe she gave me a damn "chim" reason and I did not register lah. She shaved off all fur ard her left eye (My Rara looked really hideous then. But now fur starting to grow. Looking cute again) and prescribed some eye drops and cream for application ard Rara's eye.
On top of all these, Dr. Chua found out dat Rara's urinary duct's inflamed. Poor gal. All red and sore there. And we didn't realise. But then, who in the right mind would flip over over and look THERE??? Not trying to say dat Dr. Chua's siao lah. Dats her job.
Okie. So now I have to clean Rara's wound, apply cream and powder on it, then drop eye drops into her eyes, then apply cream around her left eye, then flip her over and clean her inflamed urinary duct, then apply cream on it, then apply powder on it, flip her back and put her back in her cage. So much more work. *sign*
And I came out of the clinic $133 poorer.
This rabbit's costing me a lot of money and time.

Damn.
I dun mean to swear early in the morning but wat happened last nite was infuriating indeed.
Was typing or rather, TYPED a full entry on updates on Rara when I got disconnected from the net. Apparrently, knowing that I would not be able to upload dat entry, I attempted to copy and paste my text in a word document and failed. Blogspot doesn't allow me to do dat, perhaps being the tech-goondo, I dunno how to copy and save my entries shd I get disconnected typing halfway. Anyone can help me on this?
Going to re-type it all over again, because I know some of you are rather concerned about how Rara's doing, and will try my best to make it as interesting as the entry last nite. No promises though.

AAS #002: Answer this...
"Do you love him?"
"Emm..."
Its such a simple question, with simple answers. Yes, or No. And yet, how many of us have the true answer to this question?
Its easy to start a relationship. But so hard to keep it. Many a times, a lot of us are in a relationship for the wrong reasons, and we don't realise it.
Companionship
No man's an island. Loneliness's one of the worst things to bear. Given a choice, nobody wants to be lonely. Well, gotta be careful here. Being lonely is different from being ALONE. Loneliness an emotion, being alone is an action. Being alone is a choice, feeling lonely's an uncontrollable situation. Get it?
Therefore, we gotta be clear about this. Do you want to ask him or her out because you wanted to get that skirt or shirt from Takashimaya? Or you asked him or her out because you wanted him or her to share the joy of getting that skirt or shirt? I hope this illustration's clear enough.
Routine
We are all nostalgic people. Have you ever felt sad leaving a place because you think you'll miss the chair, table, computer and even the smell of the toilet there? We develop feelings for even non-living things. Let alone a man or woman we loved or once loved. A lot of people mistaken this "feeling of nostalgic-ness" for love.
Also, some couples think of moving to the next stage of their relationship because its TIME to. Its comes naturally as the next right thing to do. We've been together for 4 years already, the next step's to get married. Okie, let's get married. Oh, time flies and we've been married for 2 years already, the next step is to have a child, let's have one. Blah blah. You wanna get married because you are ready to spend the rest of your life with him or her or because the 3rd batch of new flats at Punggol 21 are open for bids?
Time and Tide Waits for No Man
I personally think the above phrase's even more true for women. All the signs of aging would start to appear after we hit the BIG 30. Or even before that. Our value depreciates faster than the Rupiah after 25. Plus, there is this overwhelming pressure from friends who get attached one after another, anxious parents, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunties, ahhhh... And there he or she was, not bad, could be better, but not bad, so we grab him or her.
This is one of the reasons why many chose to hang on to a problematic relationship, despite the fact that all odds are against them. They simply have no time to "source" or wait for another partner to come along.
Riding on a Donkey While Looking Out for a Horse
This is a literal translation from the Chinese idiom, "Qi2 Luu2 Xun2 Ma3". Values and morals have been eroded by the so-called worldy desires and self-assumed bench-marks that people no longer just find "The One" and live happily ever after. There's simply too much uncertainty in whether "The One"'s gonna appear and thus people claim to be "forced" to accept anyone who just happens to be there first. It is no longer morally wrong to ditch someone because he's simply not rich or good-looking enough, or she's simply not slim or virtuous enough. So, many might think, what's wrong with putting downpayment for a 3 room HDB flat first and then upgrade to a 4 room or bigger one later? Nothing to lose.
Yeah, right. But sadly, these people fall into the trap of what is referred to as " The Search for The Better One" cycle. They just go round and round, shifting from one flat to another, and eventually realise that the very first 3 room HDB flat he or she bought previously was the one he or she wanted to live in forever! Very likely, this cosy 3 room's flat's gonna be taken. Too bad.
Its a Beautiful Shell
You love him because he's tall, dark, handsome and most importantly rich. You love her because she's beautiful, has an hour-glass figure, is gentle and makes real good steaks. Superficial? But true. Many get illusionised that they've got the right guy or girl because of the compliments people on the road give to them. Its just like getting a fire-engine red convertable when you have a family of 10. Getting a mini bus might have been a better choice, but people get assured that they've made the right choice from the "Oohs" and "Wows" they get at Orchard Road.
Does any of the above sound familiar to you? Perhaps you know of someone who's been in it before, or perhaps you're in it right at this moment!
There's no right or wrong reasons to be in a relationship actually. Just reasons like the above, which might camouflage our true feelings and make relationships vulnerable to sudden attacks. Couples out there, maybe you wanna spend some time seriously thinking about what Aunt Aggie has said. And hopefully all of you would be able to say it out loud and clear, "YES! I LOVE HIM/ HER!"
Clause: The above reasons are the more common ones as recorded in the the archives of Aunt Aggie's files. And again, the above reasons and analogies are what is correct and clear from Aunt Aggie's point of view. Aunt Aggie, or this blog, has no legal obligations to whatever negative implications the content has to the actions and thoughts of any living creature.
Sorry, Sorry, SORRY!
My AAS#002's late. I noe I noe...
I've let all my fans down. I noe I noe...
Its unethical for me not to adhere to the deadline. I noe I noe...
I've failed in my role. Totally. I noe I noe...
BUT, can I have a chance for redemption not?
I knew you all are nice pple... pleassseeeee??? *signature puppy eyes*
SMoooccch... I knew you guys would give me another chance!!!
Okie. Here's wat happened.
Started on this 2nd issue like donkey years ago. Or shd I say, I ATTEMPTED to start on it donkey years ago. However, your dearest Aunt Aggie couldn't make up her mind on the topic of this 2nd issue! I gave a title, wrote a paragraph, and den realised its not good a topic enough and deleted both the title and dat paragraph, and den decided I shd come back with a better topic the next day. Well, then the same thing happened the next day and this cycle went on and on till last Friday.
Wrote quite a constructive bit last Friday and I was super sure I would be able to get it out by Sat. Then, on dat fateful Saturday, as I tried to continue, I realised I wanna deleted the topic and watever constructive bit I wrote again! Damn. I couldn't give up. Simply not, for the sake of all fans. So I tried to get into the "Aunt Aggie Mode" by dimming the lights in my room (basically I juz switched off all lights except the one beside my bed), lighting some aroma therapy thingy, got my dose of Ribena (real cold) by my computer and playing real sentimental music in the background. I thot I was all set. As I embarked to continue on this 2nd issue, I...
started to feel SLEEPY. *yawns*
Hahaha... yeah yeah. I can imagine the looks on your faces.
"You PIG! We waited for like 4 bloody weeks and you are telling us we're gonna miss #002 because you wanna SLEEP???"
Calm down, calm down.
At least I'm honest rite? Dun I deserve credit for being truthful? Hmm?
Its all the dimming of lights and lighting of aroma-therapy thingy's fault lah! And my bed's simply too hard to resist. Especially when Mummy just bought me a new pillow. I knew I just had to try dat. Rite, rite? *Puppy eyes again*
Okie, so I told myself dat I would still have Sunday.
I was awaken by the sound of some elephant walking in and outta my room, occassionally dropping bombs (in the form of clothings or books or watever) onto my feet. Somehow, I thot I heard the wake-up call from Mummy. "Bee, sun shining onto your fat ass liao still dun wanna wake up issit?", "Bee, dun sleep liao, wake up and fold your clothes!" (dat explains the clothy bombs), "BEE, STILL DUN WANNA WAKE UP AH???".
"Replied" Mummy with occassional "Orh"s and "Em"s. But was still cruising in Dreamland. Then, Mummy decided to use the last resort.
"Bee, u sure u dun wanna wake up? Your breakfast's getting cold oh..."
Dats the trick man! Way to go, Mum!
I got up. Heez.
Had a hearty breakfast and was just getting down to warm up for #002 when Mummy decided it was "Spring Cleaning Sunday". Aaaiiiyyyaaahhh....
Spent the entire day clearing up just one corner of my room and was super tired at dinner time. Had a hearty dinner (I usually make sure all my meals are hearty) and wanted to settle down to working on AAS after checking out wats on TV.
As I was surfing the channels, hey! I saw a back-dated Stephen Chow's show! Used to love his shows back when I was in Primary School and this one's one of the classics. "Tao2 Xue2 Wei1 Long2 Part II" ! I like I like!
I had to watch it.
The show ended at 9.30pm and I went on to watch Zhang Fei's lousy Taiwanese Variety show, occassionally surfing in to Ch 8 Jacky Wu's one for Ruhua. Happily enjoying myself surfing the channels and realised dat its a freaking 11am already. Oh. Bedtime. Went to bed and totally forgot all about AAS.
Damn.
Scold me! Curse me! Throw rotten eggs at me! Put me in a guni sack and thrash me! Tell DT my weight! Burn my bed and new pillow!
Yeah, I agree its a rather shitty explanation.
But, at least its true. Hor?

Its a Beautiful Day
Today's a beautiful day because:
1. Ah Bui's safely home!
Dad and Mummy (she fell asleep waiting for him) waited the entire nite for him because he did not bring his keys with him and is supposed to reach hme at 4am today. Well, tink plane got delayed or he went shopping at duty-free, coz he reached home only at 6am. Poor Mummy and Dad. Waited for 2 entire hours in kan cheong-ness. Yeah, I was sleeping like a log since 10pm. The "sleep trance" caught up with me again.
Got awaken by the thundering conversation between Ah Bui and Mummy. Pissed. But, pissed-ness went away almost immediately because Mummy bought breakfast and Ah Bui got me a pressie from Thailand! So happy! (See? I'm so easy to please actually.)
2. Its Friday!
My favourite day of the week. This Friday, particularly, been long awaited. Because... I'm meeting my ex-shitty hole colleagues! Most of us are ex-es now, except for Aunty Krisytne, who still warming her ass there. Dun warm too long hor, will get "chao tar" if you dun exercise enough caution wor.
Going to a new place for dinner with them, then most probably moving on to ktv-ing after dat. I hope the food there is nice. Or at least filling. Ha.
3. I lost 1 kg!
Not much lah. But better than nothing. Have been feeling so low in self-esteem since I've grown fatter and this is very much a motivation for me to do better. Its a good start.
It seems dat things have made a turn for the better these days. Was suffering from mild depression a few mths back. You guys didn't notice, rite?
Didn't have much luck in my job-search and my financial resources were depleting at "lode-runner (or "road runner", watever, who cares anyway) rate. No money, no funny. Worse still, I gained so much weight dat I couldn't even bear to take a second look at myself. Its no wonder I dun have any "yan yu s" (romantic encounters) then. Come to tink of it, its been quite some time since I met "guai shu shu s".
Hmm...
Slimmer= Supposedly prettier=More guai shu shus= Frantic situations.
Damn. Life is full of dilemmas.

Payday!
Finally. I've come to a decision. Yeah. Great. No regrets. No turning back.
Its been a really stressful week for me. Glad its all over. And! There's something to celebrate today! Its PAYDAY! Seemed like a lifetime since my last payday, and I've torturing myself under a LB (low-budget) lifestyle for... em, at least 2 mths? Now its time to CELEBRATE! Yay yay!
I'm a happy gal once more!
Met Jingjing and we both treated ourselves to a sumptuous dinner at Fish & Co. (so Nono, u understand y I had violent objections to going there again this Fri?) Ohh... Yummy! Tried to do some shopping but didn't see anything I fancied. Ended up getting groceries and toiletries for home again. My Ah Soh nature.
I'm going Simei tmr! Getting Rara's medication and " shun bian " go "bio" cute guy at optical shop. *Wolf calls*
Okie lah, going to "bio" cute guy at optical shop and "shun bian" get medication for Rara.

Yup, 2 entries a day. Dats how free I am.
I am waiting for an important call right now and is getting damn frustrated and restless dat that someone hasn't called. The fire's burning up to my ass and my fireman hasn't arrived yet. I've got a real important decision to make tmr and is betting all my chips on the advice dat that someone's gonna give me.
Aaaaaahhhhhh.........
Pek chek.
I hate making decisions. Because I hate making wrong ones. And I ALWAYS make wrong ones. I hate messing up my life. And I ALWAYS mess up my life.
I'm a loser.
Warning: Super Yuan Entry
Its the usual Sunday afternoon. Sleep in, wake up, eat brunch, watch tv, surf net, blog, eat dinner, watch tv, get the Monday blues, iron clothes, sleep.
Well, the life of a singleton. Not exactly a fufilling and exciting one, huh? But, I pretty much enjoy it. No aim, no care, no stress, no one to call, no one calls, no dates, no admirers, no boyfriend, no love.... Argh! Stop me! I wanna lament about life again!
Its nice to know you have all the freedom in the world to do wat u want, hear wat u want, see wat u wan and feel wat you wan. No connecting of any emotional strings to anyone. No hurt, no grieve, no depression, no anger, no waste of precious tears for someone who thinks from waist down. Not bad sia.
But, (I thought of this for a long time) I really DO miss getting hurt, depressed, angry, and crying over someone! I really do. I miss all that are associated with loving someone. SOMEBODY! LOVE ME, HURT ME!!!
Its been so long and I am so afraid I am gonna forget how it is like, to be in love. I am so afraid that I'll lose that feeling, and someday, I'll never wanna get it back. Resistance to belief in true love. Yeah.
I'll get so blinded by the cruelties of this world and eventually get convinced dat fairy tales are strictly fantasy. And only privileges that God has arranged for wat the world had perceived to be "fair" ladies.
I'll just be the fat, ugly and wicked witch who's banished to the end of the world. Detested, forsaken, separated and very soon, forgotten, by all mankind. Concocting love potions to separate couples in love and selling them to other fat & ugly witches like me, plotting evil schemes with my evil sidekick(Rara) and eventually dying vengeful and lonely.
I've thought it through. Maybe it was just not meant to be. SOMEONE's gotta be the evil witch. No evil, where got good? No vengeful spinsters, where got lovey-dovey couples? Life's gotta be balanced.
You couples blissfully in love, you gotta thank me! Without me sacrificing at the other end of the scale, all of you probably would have drowned.

Are All ABNNs Smelly?
Legend:
*meaning bangala who do physical work for a living. English vocab limited to "how much?", "rice and curry only & takeaway" and "thank you". Hold hands with male fellow countrymen.
** meaning ABNN who works as a high ranking executive in MNC. Expatriate in Singapore. Speaks proper English with an American accent.
Pictures!

Not a very clear pic, but make do lah! See, my poor thumb...

Side view. Swollen sia.
The below are some sky pics I took for Lao Huu. But tink they're real nice and so decided to post them up.

All three taken while I was waiting for my bus in the morning.
Life is so beautiful.
You'll realise it if you could juz stop watever you're doing and, for a moment, "see" and "feel" it with your heart.

SUAY Queen Returns
I had one of the worst start of the week in 20 years. I could easily have entered this day for my Primary School composition writing, titled "The Unluckliest Day of My Life".
First, I woke up late. Opened my eyes and AAAHHH... It was all bright and sunny already! Jumped outta bed (No, I did not wake my neighbours downstairs) and Woosh~ Got my fat ass out of my hse in 20 mins. Because of this, Rara missed her breakfast. She tried the "Puppy Eyes" trick. Too bad, I am a lousy Jie Jie.
Made it in time for the 7.50am bus, all was smooth and steady until I changed bus at after Seletar Camp. It was all a mistake right from the start. I shouldn't have took dat first step. The entire bus was like a SAUNA! Imagine, the air-con's emitting hot air loh! Wah lau, like wat Nono says, this time I really "Han4 Bao3 Bao3" (Sweaty Baby, which means Hamburger too). Fanned myself like an Aunty with my ez-link card. Yah, the effect's barely noticeable. No use actually, but I figured out it was a psychological thingy.
The 20 mins bus ride felt like it lasted a lifetime. Woo, finally, my ordeal was over. Fresh air!
There was more ambush for me in office. Tried to adjust the height of my chair and OUCH! I pricked my thumb into the nails of my chair! I gotta give it credit for waking me up man! Didn't realised how deep a cut it was until it keep bleeding profusely and wouldn't stop even after I put it under a running tap. Yes, it hurts BIG TIME.
Had no plaster with me because I forgot to refill my supply after using up the last one for a blister. KNS. Pressed on the wound with a tissue and finally, it stopped bleeding. I am such a first-aid expert.
But, the hurt remains and now I can't even hold a pen... *grouchy*
Dat was not all. Wanted to get my daily dose of Milo, especially today because I was late and had no time for breakfast. The Milo machine was spoilt!!! Suay! SUay! SUAY AH! Only sugar and bits of milo-looking powder came out!
This plot could easily get me a prize in the East Zone Primary School Essay Competition 2005.

Fans! More Blogging Tmr k?
Hey yo hey yo...
Had a bad day at work and have so many woes to pour out but I simply have no time to elaborate now.
I have a conference call at 10pm (Yes, 10PM. Nope, not video conference because I dun have my network set up at hme yet. Yes, dial in from home. Nope, cannot claim. Yes. Toll-free.) later with the US pple and thus gotta go get prepared for it soon.
I also think the timing suck. Wat to do? Who asked me to work in an MNC? And its a WEEKLY conference loh! Wah leu... I cannot imagine working for more than 12 hours every Wednesday. And, And, I have to attend a conference call in office at 8AM the next day!!! (Weekly one also.) Work late and start early the next day. KNS.
Updates on Rara
Realised I haven been updating you all on Rara these few days, so this entry's specially for those concerned.
She was getting better until last Sat. Well, all my fault. Coz I didn't do a good job in tying her head collar tightly enough and it came off for quite a while. Luckily Mummy discovered it just before she was leaving the hse and got scoundrel to help her secure it back. However, damages are still done. Her wound got all red and some of the healing skin came off. Ouch!
There's something else bothering me. Rara's been having pinkish urine for the past week. Thot it was blood initially, but tink its too light to be blood leh. But it could be a little blood diluted with her urine. Oh no... blood in urine seems rather serious! But I am damn broke leh. No more money to send her to vet. Hope she can tahan till next mth.
Aiyo... I am so gek sim by all these happening to her...
When issit gonna end? Aaaaaahhhhh...........................

"Yuanster" My Foot!
Before I start, I wanna jump up and down joyfully for 20 times first! (Warning: Neighbours staying on 5th floor and below, please evacuate first.)
Something really wonderful happened to me today! I was so damn shocked but I tink I reacted quite well. Hee. But, but, I'm gonna keep it a secret first, will announce BIG BIG and LOUD LOUD when things have actualised and stablised. Those of you pple who already had the sneak preview to it, better keep ya mouth shut! Or else...
And and! I got a fat Angpow (I expect $4 only lah, but its more, more, more!) from my Team Leader! Woohoo~
Hey, I got a couple of comments on my blog! But then hah, u fans out there, can leave your name not? Esp when you leave your comments like u noe me for the past century. Sound so familiar but I still cannot figure out who!
My Brain: "Hah! This person used a lot of lahs and lehs! Muz be A! Eh, no, B also uses a lot of these lahs and lehs leh... okie, so its B. Hey! But C spells her "and" in this way... But den it could be D also leh... coz got grammar mistakes. Maybe E also? Maybe F? Ah hah! Its G lah! Who else so bo liao? Hahaha... I'm so smart... eh, but G married a Martian and migrated to Mars 2 years back leh. WAH LAU! DEN WHO LAH??"
See? I am so confused I am pulling all my hair out! No amt of Yun Nam can save me! Me, although very smart, would prefer to put my precious, high quality brain cells for better use. If u dun wan me to look like "Sam Seng" in Bookworm Club, please sign off. Can not???
And who was the one who suggested I name my blog " Yuanster"? Huh? Huh? Call yourself Anonymous somemore. But I know who you are! I killed like 800 million brain cells and spent 50 light years before I came up with such a "chim" name. You wan me to give it up and change it to some SWA KU and "tu3" name like "Yuanster"?
Fat hope.
By the way, pple who yuan are expected to live longer because research have shown that you cut your life span back by at least 10 years if you bottle up all your feelings and emotions. My pact with DT and Takeshi's still on, so I have to make sure I stay alive wat.
Wats more, I do not yuan (grouch) ALL the time. For those of you who know me well, I am one BUBBLY, CHEERFUL, JOYFUL, OPTIMISTIC gal. Rite rite? (I can visualise u all nodding. Good.) I just get bad experiences and meet ill-mannered pple. To prove my pt, scroll up and read my first and second and third paragraph. Any bit of grouchiness in it? I told you I am one happy gal.

Bloody Rude Angmoh
I am boiling inside and I needa bitch about it before I erupt!
Some F***ing fool pulled out my internet cable when I juz left my desk for about an hour! Without asking for my permission! So bloody rude.
Tamade.
I wanted to stay connected one loh! Today is the BIG day leh! Sicali got "shy" pple wanna ask me out on a date via email, msn, icq, watever, den how? Are you gonna provide for me for the rest of my life??? Made me restart my msn and email somemore. Dunno how to ask also. Wah leu. If cannot find me den dun use lah. Use someone else's lah! Brainless freak!
And some other Angmoh dared to come and tell me, "Hey, my mate stole your cable juz now..."
Mate his head lah! Here not Kangeroo Land leh. Mate, mate... Pui lah!
Still dare to remind me he STOLE it from me. YES! He STOLE loh. (Taking without permission is STEALING.)
Whoever dat "mate is, he shd thank his lucky stars I didn't get to SEE him yet ah! If not I'll use my Body Slam and Flying Thunder Thighs on him. "Watch out, MATE!"
I am feeling less grouchy because I'm savouring a cup of Meiji Yoghurt with Mixed Fruits (Yummy!). Nice.
Dumb Angmoh! U heng ah! This cup of yoghurt's your benefactor.
P/S: Kaoz, INSENSITIVE DC attempted to let me lunch alone again! Luckily my teamleader saved me. FYI, DC, in case you were comtemplating to make my life at Wonderland sucky by letting me lunch alone, YOU HAVE FAILED. LOSER.

Abundant Harvest Everyone?
Time flies this holidays huh? Seems like I was damn busy but frankly speaking, I have no idea what I was busy with. Nope, not the CNY visiting dats tiring me out. In fact, I was done with it during the first 2 days. Reason being, I only have 2 places to go to (maternal and paternal grandparents' hses). Dats all.
Haven't had much luck with mahjong this year. Won $0.60 and $1.70 at SS's and SK's hse respectively. But lost $33 at Shu Shu's hse just now! Ahhhh... so SUAY! KNS. Poor Zolzol, gotta eat bread and skip lunch for the rest of this month. God's will to make me lose some weight.
Went supper after the mahjong session with Shu Shu, ST and RL. Wooh, so much to catch up on!Updated RL who has been MIA-ing for so long. Heehee, got some interesting updates too. BUT, I am not at the liberty to tell! Too bad. Ha.
Ah Bui's been away for overseas training for only 2 days and I'm missing him already! I so regretted not pulling myself outta bed and sending him off the other day. I'm under the "won't-wake-up-unless-my-hse's-on-fire" curse. I didn't get to say BYE! My dear Ah Bui. Although I cannot stand the fact that he sometimes wears my T-shirt and claimed that they are too big for him (too big dun wear lah!), hogs the PC whenever he's hme, think my cooking sucks and refuses to read my blog. I still miss him! At least he's one of those few pple who doesn't haunt me to lose weight, lets me have my way upon the first sign of my whinning and best of all, eats what I cooked despite the fact he tinks its terrible! I wonder how he's doing. Hmm...
Tink Mummy misses him more lah. Coz she used to call him everyday when he was in camp. YES. EVERYDAY. She calls me at the office everyday too. Okie. Fair. Now dat he's not at home, I'm the baby at home. Haha. Enjoying while I can.

Gong Xi Gong Xi
Rooster year's back! Time really flies. The last time where all streets were decorated with rooster-related stuff was like em, 12 years ago? Dat was the year when I took my PSLE! Wah lau leh, looking back, I am so damn old now! So many things have happened like these 12 years. I got my "O"s, "A"s, Degree, knew my frens from Sec sch, jc and Uni (many turned into confidates), numerous crushes, tried my first go at make-up, attended my first prom, my first RA show, my first overseas trip without family, my first job, blah, blah.
Well, some things never change though.
I still like pink, I still am infatuated with Takeshi, I still hate durians, I'm still fat, I still am looking for LOVE!
Relax, relax, Zolynn, Rrrrreeeelllaaaxxx....
okie, change topic. I am not gonna start lamenting about life again.
Let's talk about something happy!
Well, other than remembering CNY for the season where I gotta get interrogated by all SUPER-CONCERNED grannies, aunties and uncles as to when I'm gonna get hitched and the opening sentences "Oh my, you've grown fatter this year!". CNY's got its attractiveness too.
Lotsa goodies at home! My Mummy's always got the "I-am-feeding-an-army-at-home-so-I-gotta-fill-up-all-cabinets-and-fridge-with-food" syndrome whenever the sound of spring knocks. I've got supply enough to last me 3 months. Yay! Food gorging time! Yah, yah, hanah, hanah, control, control. I can imagine pple like JS telling me this , "Better dun eat too much ah, you're getting fatter already. Always say wanna jian fei, but still dun wanna control. Blah blah" k lah, k lah. Got it lah.
Something else to look forward to: Ang Pows!
Woo hoo~ I still consider it a privilege. Haha. I expect better ang pow biz this year, coz I attended like a 101 wedding dinners last year! Its pay back time! Wait a min, did someone say newly weds can choose not to give ang pows for the first year? Oei! Dats so unfair! It muz be the newly weds who came up with this themselves! How can? How can? Sicali I get married this year how? Huh huh? Den I damn Luu Gi leh! KNS. K, juz read my horoscope for Rooster Year 2005. No romance luck. Alright, at least no luu gi so much.
Haha, first Angpow! From Mummy! I noe how much lah. Standard one. Same amount for like 20 years already. But its okie lah, for the significance can liao. She reminded me a zillion times dat I gotta put it in my pocket and sleep with it. For good luck lah. K, noted.

Oh no! Its gonna be 12 am soon! Aiyah! I still got grooming to do! Tmr cannot touch scissors and other sharp objects. Damn.
Gotta fly.
Happy Chinese New Year!

AAS #001: Something About You
Welcome to this very first issue on Aunt Aggie Says (AAS), published on every first Saturday/Sunday of the month.
Here, I share my opinions on BGR. Very often, I play the role of "Aunt Aggie" to people around me, like colleagues, friends and family. Don't ask me why. I am intrigued too. I am a greenhorn when it comes to relationships, simply cannot stand sobbing gals and wishy-washy guys. Thus, to counter the increasing amount of people coming to me for advice, I decided to create a "Aunt Aggie Says" column, where I would give opinions and advice on common BGR problems. Hopefully this will help!
Without further ado (I know you are excited), I shall begin.
I always tell myself that things happen for a reason. And that songs were not written out of nowhere too. I don't know if you guys and gals have heard of this song, "Something About You" by Five for Fighting.
The chorus goes like this:
Baby there's something about you that
I can hold on to
I'm going to hold on to that
If I interpret it correctly, it means that there is always this something about your special someone that made you hold on, despite the fact that sometimes it strikes you that he or she is not and will not be someone you could walk hand in hand with, for the rest of your life.
I have heard of many cases of people hanging on, even after their their boyfriends or girlfriends cheated on them, abuse them physically or verbally, stood them up and etc, numerous times. And some eventually marry them! Why? Why? Why? Each time it happened, gals would cry and guys would get dead drunk, then they tell themselves and everyone else that THIS time its REALLY going to be OVER and guess wat? They appear at weekend gatherings together with their partners, ever so lovey-dovey again!
I always tell myself that courtship is merely means that both parties are just "trying things out" and if either one finds that something is simply so wrong (it has to be wrong because if it was right it wouldn't have hurt you so many times), he or she could just walk out.
Yah yah, its so damn easy for me to say, because I haven't been through it. Its just so hard when you're in it. All those good times you shared, all those sweet things he or she has done for you, all those times where he or she would cry and beg you to stay, and tell you how much he or she regretted what they've done. Please! These are all bullshit!
Notice that I used the PAST tense? "shared", "done", "would"? Its all past, get over it! Besides, the fact that it was the "nth" time it happened only means that your boyfriend or girlfriend do not treasure and remisice the good and sweet times like you do. If not, they would have thought twice before repeating it. They know its going to hurt you. Regrets are meant to be taken as learning lessons. The fact that one could regret the same thing over and over again only means that the regret is not painful enough for them to remember. Ha! So the conclusion is, boys and girls, its been a one-man or one-woman show all along.
Number 1 Piece of advice(POA) from Aunt Aggie's Manual(AAM): Its takes 2 hands to clap.
Things are not going to work out if you are the only one really working on the relationship. Its ABOUT the 2 of you. Its going be only a matter of time before you cannot take the strain and give up.
Yes yes yes, you LOVE him or her and you can't live without him or her.
Number 2 POA from AAM: Love, like everything else in this world, is NOT ETERNAL. It transforms into committment, habits (many couples become used to each other), and companionship.
Number 3 POA from AAM: Death will come to nobody just because he or she has lost a loved one. This world is so filled with love, romantic, motherly, fatherly, brotherly, sisterly, love between friends, love for pets, blah blah. Everyone loves someone or something! And everyone or everything dies eventually. So, if someone is SO going to die because someone they love dies, then humans might have been exterminated 200 million years ago.
I am not trying to say that one should walk out of a relationship once he or she felt that something is wrong. The above advice is meant for people who are holding on to a relationship in which he or she has tolerated TOO MANY a times the SAME problem, and this problem has affected them SO much that it was MORE than ONCE it triggered off the "break up" word.
Wrong things happen for a reason too! Many relationships are strengthened because couples are able to make wrong things right.
Number 4 POA from AAM: Nothing's perfect in this world. No one's perfect too. Its just whether you are willing to accept the imperfectness in him or her.
Clause: All opinions and statements made here are highly subjective. Aunt Aggie is not legally liable for any advice taken too seriously.
Updates on Rara (Again)
Yoyo!
Here are the pics of Rara I took while she was hospitalised, as promised. My gal gal, so cute!

I tink the neck collar makes her look like a circus-rabbit.
Well, pple, she's recovering well. No worries! Thanks for all ya concerns and regards.
Oh yah, she was discharged yesterday. Now she's back in cosy home. Dr. Sue taught me all dat was needed to take care of her. So many things to do sia. Wah lau, so troublesome! Gotta clean left eye with saline, take out neck collar, cleanse wound with saline, wipe dry, apply cream, put powder, put back collar, tie collar and give her injections (for her eye lah, but not ON her eye lah, on the bum.) every other day. Not to mention gotta bond whenever possible, feed her, fill water bottle, clean cage... blah blah blah.
Where got time for dates then? I am SO gonna be a spinster. What makes it worse is dat I've just transferred my first month of deposit into "Spinster Funds" to "Rara's funds". Damn, I shd have studied Zoology.
What is a Spinster Fund?
I FINALLY came to my senses dat there is a HIGH chance dat I would not be able to find dat "someone" whom I want to depend on and spend the remaining of my lifetime with, so I decided dat the next best alternative would be to be a RICH and HC (high-class) spinster. Since I'm gonna die lonely, I choose to die RICH and lonely, as compared to POOR and lonely (so pathetic,I can't even buy a toy-boy). So I try to save a *significant amt of money every mth in preparation.
*Note: Definition of significant amt might vary from person to person.
Some more good news:
For those cold-blooded individuals who are starting to get bored reading about Rara everyday, I curse you... em, I mean, I am glad to tell you dat entries on Rara will be greatly reduced and other more interesting ones are expected to follow. Not dat Rara's not interesting though, juz dat I can understand dat not everyone is a caring animal-lover like me.
Also, I have decided to include an "Aunt Aggie Says" every month. Contents would mainly be interesting stories I've gathered in my many years of experience of counselling pple facing BGR problems. Exclusive to my blog readers only!
I am all ready to blog and blog again!
Photos! Photos! Photos!
Anyways, Yay!

Updates on Rara
She's got better. Thank God. Her self-inflicted wound sort of dried up becoz it didn't come into contact with any of her saliva. Did I tell u guys dat Dr. Sue put a "collar" around her neck to prevent her from reaching her wound? Dat helped a lot actually. But I thought dat collar made Rara look a bit like a circus rabbit. Ha.Took some pics but can't show u all coz I haven had time to get a card reader to transfer all my hp pics here. Give me some time k? Will get it done by next mth.
Back to Rara. Met up with Dr. Chua at the clinic today. Remember her? Just to digress a bit hah, she called me last night just to check on how Rara's doing (she's only on duty on Tues and Sats) and how I was doing. So sweet of her! Guys, I'll help u chk out if she's hitched not, k? Such a nice gal, so caring, and vets earn good livings! Trust me, I've got Rara's medical fees as hard evidence. If interested, pls drop by at Simei Pet Safari, Animal Recovery Clinic, every Tues n Sats, 10am to 8pm. By the way, Dr. Chua told me she did some research on Rara's case (See? I told you she's damn nice.) and came up with a few reasons y Rara would self-inflict injury on herself. Half of the terms mentioned are too chim for me to understand lah. But I gathered dat the gist of it is:
1. Boredom. I might need to get her a toy or another rabbit to accompany her. Another rabbit might agonise her further if she doesn't like him/her (rabbits experience jealousy and rivalry too) and might fight. So, conclusion: Get a toy for her.
2. Mating Stage. Rara's in her stage of life where her hormones are highly active and she might be suffering from a condition of producing excessive hormones. This condition actually cause her to constantly tink dat she's pregnant and will consistant pull out her fur to make a nest. Solution: sterilise her. This way, we could prevent anything similar from happening in the future and her life span might be extended, if she's really suffering from this condition lah.
Haven decided whether I (or rather Rara) wanna go for the sterilisation not. Coz it simply means more money. Her fees are causing quite a financial strain on me. Speaking of which, I have an opening for a "Sugar Daddy/ Mummy" for my Rara. Just $50 a month. Free to visit/pet/ sayang / feed and play with her. Outings are allowed too but her curfew is 11pm. Muz bring back in good condition though. Your identity could be kept secret upon request. Any takers?

Alright, here's the usual blogging.
Went back to work today. Cried myself to sleep last night and ended up with puffy eyes. No amount of make-up could cover up sia. Wah lau eh. So guys, better dun make your galfrens cry coz they get puffy eyes which no amount of Clinique concealer or SKII's Shen Qi Shui (miracle water) could revive.
Felt a lot better though. Might be because I slept more than 8 hrs last nite. Oh yah!My day was brightened coz I met a CUTE guy on the bus. *Wolf calls* Haha. God's gift to me. Yay! Got started on some real work but find it hard to concentrate coz my whole mind was on Rara. Had my first "net meeting" with my team leader who was working from hme. For the benefit of those who are as swa ku as me, a net meeting is like a net conference where you can see each other's desktop and read files from there. This way, you can communicate better coz both parties can refer to and visually see exactly which part of a file they are referring to. Cool hor? But becoz of poor concentration, I made a few mistakes. Luckily it was the first time and my team leader seems alright with it. I hope I didn't leave a bad impression. *crosses fingers*
Saw my uncle at work today. So weird! I'm so used to seeing him at Granny's plc! Well, he's a bit hostile I would say. As in I thot he might pop over to say hi or find me at the co's msn messenger to do so if he's shy lah. But he didn't. I tink it might be because he had a lot of work to clear after being away for a week. K lah, he's forgiven. I'm such a nice gal.
Everyone's been very concerned about my well-being and Rara. Even ex-colleague, JS, was so nice! Hey, to you pals out there, thanks!
Had another Yan Yu (romantic encounter) after visiting Rara today. Walked in an optical shop to get multi-purpose solution for my contacts and woohoo! *Wolf calls again* There was another CUTE GUY! He's one of the sales assistant there. Ladies and kaypoh gentlemen, if you all are interested, he's working at Frames and Lenses Optical Centre, Level 1, Simei, Eastpoint Shopping Centre. Statistics: About 1.78m, Chinese, Stylo, Clean Cut! My type! Haha. But then I tink my first and only conversation with him might have ruined all the good impression he might initially have of me. Here's how it goes:
Cute guy: Can I help you?
Me: Yes, how much is your multi-purpose solution?
Cute guy: $23 for the new one and $20 for the old one.
Me: Wat the difference?
Cute guy: The new one has more chlorine content in it and its supposed to be better for the eyes.
Me: Does it come with a free contacts container and a travel btl pack like this old one?
Cute guy: Sorry but no.
Me: Okie. I'll take the old one then.
I am a cheap-skate aunty! I bought the cheaper one coz it comes with free gifts. Yeah. But makes sense wat. Anyway I've used the old solution for like at least 5 years, and I can still see, so, who cares about more chlorine? And got free gifts somemore. Good deal leh. Besides, I wouldn't wanna risk letting cute guy have a good impression of me over getting a dressing down by Aunty Mummy! Who noes, the cute guy might tink I'm a smart buyer.
2 cute guys in a day! Boy, I am one lucky gal!
